E.T.- UGH! There are not enough words to describe how much I hate this film. The whole time I was hoping for someone to go all Ripley on that silly looking alien.

(I'm such a chauvinist, I guess.) The writing sucked, since the director what's his name should stick to directing, which he's great at, imho btw. James Cameron, that's him.
I disagree, though I do have an issue with all such movies (Blair Witch might've been the first) which include a player necessarily having to hold a video camera while being chased by ghosts or monsters or dinosaurs. It's failure of the sunspension of disbelief big-big, which means bad movie making. I was watching one the other night and one of the protagonists was hanging by his fingernails from a cliff edge and we're seeing it all through the video camera of another protagonist who's supposedly trying to help him. I laughed out loud and said, "Put the camera down, dickweed!!!".Absolutely! Only movie I've seen in the theater where I wanted my money back after it was over. So terrible. Field of Dreams is one of my favorites. I find something comforting about that movie. But I can understand why people wouldn't like it (Kevin Costner).....
