I should be so lucky, eh? If I ask for sedation I need someone to drive me home. I suggested a taxi since hubby is still up North but they said no, they would not send me home in a taxi. So I guess I will just "grin and bear it" (excuse the pun)
((Neesy))) whenever i go to the Dentist,I feel like Jerry Lewis by the time I get home. Big Mouth.

Positive vibes and prayers being sent Neesy! I am sorry you have to get yourself home. I would drive you if I was close! Be careful!
Thanks - I'll just put on my "Big Girl Panties" and live with it - but I appreciate the offer :doc: - hey - on a positive note perhaps I will lose a pound or two because I probably will be living on smoothies since I won't be able to chew:chew:

Had some teeth cut out a couple of months ago. I hadn't been under anesthesia...at least medically induced anesthesia that is, in over thirty years. Here's my somewhat entertaining timeline as I remember it and as told to me by my wife. Waiting in oral surgery waiting room; watching them hook up my I.V.; asking when they were going to start the procedure as I was feeling somewhat numb; the assistant telling me I was actually in recovery and the procedure had lasted over an hour; asking the assistant if she was sure they had already cut my teeth out; noticing my cut out teeth were taped to the collar of my shirt in some weird collector's box; telling the assistant I didn't need a wheel chair to get out to my car where my wife was waiting; watching the floor zoom in and out at the speed of light when I stood up and tried to prove this; deciding a wheel chair wasn't a bad idea; telling my wife we needed to go fishing again sometime while she was helping me into our car; briefly regaining consciousness in the Wal-Mart parking lot and not knowing 1)why I was there, and 2)why I was in the passenger seat instead of the driver's seat; convincing myself that I might be Jason Bourne and had been drugged in order to get information about secret government plans; remembering I had oral surgery; watching my wife get into the car and asking her if we might be able to go fishing again sometime; my wife laughing hysterically and telling me to wipe the drool from my mouth; asking when Daniel would be learning to drive (he's 9 years old); my wife laughing more; pulling into our carport; not knowing what to do next; trying to figure out how to open the car door; not succeeding; wife opening the car door and telling me she has 90 year kidney dialysis patients who are more coherent than I am at the moment; me not understanding the reference; being on my couch; telling my wife I was going to put the laundry in the dryer; her not acknowledging; walking out to the laundry room; realizing there was no laundry in the washing machine; staring out the window in the laundry room trying to figure out the ramifications of there not being laundry in the washing machine; my wife leading me back inside the house saying I had been asleep leaning against the laundry room window for unknown amount of time while she thought I was asleep on the couch; waking up about 14 hours later feeling like I had my jaw punched by Mike Tyson. I had never actually been under medical anesthetic since having my tonsils taken out back in the 1970's. Medical anesthesia has obviously come a long way and it felt wonderful. My wife absolutely loves to tell people about her "day at the oral surgeon with my husband"......

Oh my - now I am wondering if not getting sedation is a bad idea! :dejection:
Your story was totally hilarious though - thanks! :peaceful:
I think they just freeze everything up with xylocaine or benzocaine or something like that. (No teeth will be removed)

:biggrin-new: Funny story!

Isn't it weird that they give you your teeth back? I had a wisdom tooth removed last summer that had never popped through because I didn't have room in my mouth. It was in less than pretty shape when the dentist got it out and still they put it in a little box! Maybe we should have put them out for the tooth fairy, huh? :D

Well I really need to get moving. Was going to just sneak out without waking hubby, hoping he would sleep through the worst of the eye pain but he woke up. They are feeling better but not well enough to be out in the bright snow so I'm heading out.

Have a good rest of the day! Big hugs to everyone!

cat - go back to the room where you had this original thought and presto! It will come back to you! Works for me every time View attachment 538
I do the same! Works like a charm :)
I go for dental gum surgery tomorrow morning. They take tissue from your soft palate and apply it as a graft to areas where the gums are receding. Ouch!
Ouch, indeed... I hope the pain will be bearable. Maybe the dentist can prescribe some strong painkillers that you can use when you get back home?

Good Thursday everyone!!
Healing vibes for your hubby Tina. Hope he's eye will be better soon. Healing vibes for you too.
Ouch sounds painful Neesy. Hope you recover quickly after the procedure. Two years ago the dentist had to remove one of my
back tooth when there was a hole that they couldn't fix. Healing vibes for all who not feel well. Only tomorrow left and my Xmas celebration can begin
Woohoo.

Make 'em at least give you something strong you can take once you get home.
Many ((((HUGS)))) and healing vibes.

Our son just had a neat experience. the doorbell rang they asked for him. He came and they started singing Christmas carols to him. It was his principal, music teacher and some students. We had the school bus parked in front of the house. They choose random students homes to go too.

I don't write well at all, but I seem to have a good memory of past events. I very much enjoy poking fun at myself and things I've done. If I could write a quarter as well as I remember details, I'd enjoy writing more. I generally don't like those Ohio people, especially the ones from Cambridge, but I could read GNT's posts all day.:) Scott's posts crack me up and let me know I'm not the only one who gets a kick out of self-deprecation. You're the man GNT. It's very cool to be here on the SKMB where my appreciation and admiration for Mr. King's books fit right in with other awesome fans. Thanks for the compliment Flake. Have a safe holiday.
