Have not seen this episode yet, as it is back home, in my DVR/PVR - must say that so far this season is so weird and completely off in another direction from the book!

Basically, the Tv show is an adaption- they took ideas/characters from the book, but took their own path with the storyline.
The book is the book, the Tv show is the Tv show.

Did ANYTHING happen in this episode to propel the story forward or make it less confusing???

No.

The only thing of slight interest was when we saw...

Christine's "real" face as she was getting it on with Junior :barf: at the end of the episode.

That scene made me go :barf: too. I said, NO Junior! Don't do it!

You're going to like next weeks episode :) I heard there will be
Giant Ants!

You're right Spidey - I can appreciate that - it was not intended as a criticism - just a comment :grinning::joyous: - I almost gave up on the series at the beginning of season 3, but I think I will just keep on watching - have to enjoy the TV show on its own merits and not compare it to the book :frog::star::biggrin2:

Yeah. As always, when a new SK vehicle comes out I'm totally game, but they're often disappointing. Too much of what SK does depends on the alchemy of his words and the reader's imagination. It just can't be translated to the screen. Combine that with TV or film writers who think they need to add to or alter what is already just as it should be, and the result is frequently a letdown. UTD is pretty bad. Not as bad as the Rob Lowe 'Salem's Lot, of course, but in a contest between that and a turd on a hoagie, I think it might come to a draw.

Really :umm: Please... enlighten us! :D

Ok, well as stated in the show the egg crashed to earth along with others except that the others were never whole. The dome appearing when it did was an accident and only happened because the creepy one held the egg long enough to transfer whatever consciousness or being was inside the egg into her (which you see in the reflection when she's doing Junior). The cocoons are used to brainwash the people and change them, giant ants were mentioned above, well that's pretty much what the people are being turned into, if the plan succeeds nobody will argue they will simply take orders from the queen. And the brainwashing capabilities is obviously the main reason why the military wants the egg.

Well, thanks.
