I would love this, but I don't believe it would be allowed. A suggestion of mine from a while back was to have a micro-fiction story competition (I can't remember the exact details I laid out, but thinking of it now, maybe something like 100 words or less) that would be reduced to two candidates by the moderators. Then, if possible, maybe Stephen King could select from the two and decide a winner. If King couldn't do that, maybe Joe Hill would? Tabitha King? Owen King? Something like that would be fun, anyway.

Good idea, though. And I'll check out the mentioned thread.

The only problem with this is you are looking at Stephen endorsing something and opening it up to all kinds of claims and other crazy things. It'ss one of the reasons why many famous authors don't read other people manuscripts and such.

It was a dark and stormy night. I started writing a short story on the Stephen King message board when all of a sudden...
I found myself driving down Main Street, Bangor in a Datsun Sunny, the yellow paint work faded and peeling. New Zealand had become New England but I drove on the wrong side of the road as old habits die hard...I corrected and kept pinching myself. At long last, I was on American soil. It felt like a dream and unreality engulfed me...
