No I haven't, is Insidious 2 as good or just a "cash cow" rehash?
That's good. I liked the first movie a bit better, but the second chapter is also very good... It's a bit more complicated. But definitely worth seeing.

And I have re-watched The Avengers. Really good movie... Looking forward to the second part, too bad we have to wait almost two more years.

The Deep Blue Sea. A drama about a married woman who falls in love with another man. The story is very simple, nothing to think about. The movie is beautiful, that is for sure. And the main advantage of the movie is its actors - Rachel Weisz and Tom Hiddleston... Well, mostly, Tom Hiddleston;DD They did a great job.

Not much of a movie goer anymore, although I have a soap-dish (I think I still have it) full of movie ticket stubs...was going to use them to make one of those things that looks like Vincent Van Gogh...if viewed from a distance? Maybe some day. But my wife and I saw Captain Phillips, Tom Hanks the eponymous hero of that one...and a few days later (we were on vacation) we saw our first 3-D movie...Gravity...Sandra Bullock. Neither one a knock-your-socks-off thrill-of-a-lifetime, but nice to sit back and watch a story on the screen.

"Eagle" a historical adventure set in Roman Britain. An entire Roman Legion (5,000 men) is lost north of Hadrian's Wall, together with it's standard ie. The Eagle. 20 years later, the Legion commander's son goes north of the Wall to try and recover the Eagle and with it his family's honour.
Stars Channing Tatum, Jamie Bell and Donald Sutherland amongst others.

I was intrigued to see this film as I was spellbound as a kid by a radio dramatisation of Rosemary Sutcliff's book "The Eagle of The Ninth", on which the movie is based, and was pleased that it was not a disappointment.

I purchased the 'Alien' anthology on bluray from Amazon and have been watching all of the 'extra's on it. Pretty interesting stuff! It contains the first four movies, both the original releases and then 'director's extended' versions. Amazon had it on sale for less than $20!! For bluray!! I'll probably have an 'Alien' film marathon on my two days off this week!

"The Quiet Man" a 1952 romantic comedy starring John Wayne & Maureen O'Hara.
Set in Ireland in the 1930's and directed by John Ford. Odd to see the Duke in a non western setting, never the less enjoyable and nostalgic for an old fella like me to be reminded of the simple, if austere, country life people lived back then.
