Finished only a few days ago - LOVED it. Near the end when Pete says/thinks something about
how Rothstein's books didn't only change his life, but changed his heart - that's how I feel about Mr. King. He has given us so much. In the author's note at the very end, I smiled when I saw Ms. Mod's name and cried when he once again mentioned his Constant Readers. :smile2:

I finished it a few days ago. I really liked it.

I'm curious as to how much the fact I haven't read Mr. Mercedes yet detracted...

I think this book stands on its own nicely. You should read Mr. Mercedes when you can though.

I just finished Finders Keepers, it and Mr. Mercedes were fantastic!!! And if the third book follows the publishing schedule of the first two, we may not get it until next June. I can't wait that long!!!

In your mirror.
Well, he!!

I finished the book today. (I know. I'm late to the party. Kill me.)

I logged in and came to this thread to read and post.

I kinda sorta read the first two pages of comments and I feel stoopid.

I read Finders Keepers as a story/book. (Sorry if I don't notice first person, who's on first, second....Ha!)

I enjoyed the hell outta this story. Yeah, I'm simple. (It's part of my charm. Let's go with that.)

Brady
and his telekinesis?
Loved it.

* slinks out slowly

*Edit: I just read the story and go for it. And I'm happy.

Same thoughts here. Reading is an enjoyable escape. When I read, I'm not in a Lit class dissecting every word use, sentence, correct structure etc. It's characters and what they did.

Thanks, Spidey!

Are you all excited to know how the heck Brady

and his
telekinesis
pans out ?

>>HUGS<<

HECK YES!!! I really thought
we were done with Brady except for Bill's visits and this series was just 3 stories about Bill, but it appears to be one big story in three parts. I especially liked that Finders Keepers focuses on one of the survivors and his family making a nice connection back to the first story. And I have a feeling Pete and his family will have a part in the third book as well.

I think because first and third person depended on who something was happening to it completely made sense. There was nothing disjointed about it to me either.

Also loved it.

I've been waiting a little while to get to this, but after finishing the trilogy, I couldn't stop thinking about Morris Bellamy. The way I see it, it was a horror story, but the scary part was that there was nothing supernatural about the story (unless you count the part where the trunk is revealed to Peter). The bad guy is just as human as we are, and his whole life began to revolve around a story and a character, to the point that he waited for most of his life in prison and went to get the notebooks almost as soon as he was on parole. The notebooks were all he cared about, and with that in mind, he was above everything else. He wouldn't stop for the law, or even when he was burning to death. He shot Peter's mom in the head without a second thought because nothing else was nearly as important as the notebooks. He killed his old "friend" over the books, and was even going to kill Peter and Tina (and Bill, Holly, and maybe Jerome as well) just so he could find out what would happen to Jimmy Gold. It's scary what obsession can do to people, and this is a great example of when it goes too far. Morris is definitely one of my favorite villains because he is so real, and he is far beyond reasoning with for any purpose. Even in his old age, he's not delicate or weak. Although he only killed Andrew, he had the intention of killing anyone else who got between him and the books. To me, that's really scary, and I felt so invested in the story, fearing for Peter's family and Bill and company. I also loved how real and important the Jimmy Gold books were. By the end of the story, I was only disappointed to know that I couldn't read about The Runner myself. That was very well done. In that universe, Jimmy Gold is like Holden Caulfield, or Gatsby. Everyone seems to know that name and that story, and I found myself wishing that it was all as real as the book made it feel. Stephen King did a great job making an influential story for this book. I can't say that I have a rating for Finders Keepers, though. I enjoyed the trilogy mostly equally, so I loved them all the best!

Nice summation! Glad you enjoyed the trilogy. If you didn't know, The Outsider crosses paths with the Finders Keepers folk a bit, in case you are wanting more.
