Some of you may have noticed I've been having some personal issues lately. Because of that, today I read the book The Dance of Connection by Harriet Lerner. Excellent book. Here are a few of the quotes from it that I found helpful.

Every human being is better and more complex than the worst things he or she has done.

If we're needing (as opposed to hoping for) a particular response from the other person, that's a good indication we're not yet ready to broach a difficult conversation.

We diminish people when we don't allow them to help us, or when we act like we don't need anything from them and they have nothing to offer us.

What other self-help or relationship books have any of you read that you feel had a significant impact?

Keith Ferrazi wrote two excellent books on the importance of relationships in our lives. 'Never Eat Alone' and 'Who's Got Your Back' are two excellent books on building your network.
