Stephen King gives an assignment in "On Writing" to write without plot. He asks that the writer's finished work be sent to him on this website. Does anyone know how to send that information along?

Unfortunately, as noted in the FAQ, we are no longer accepting the writing assignment submissions.
don't worry it's why I'm here too. Hell, even if he just left a submission box up and NEVER looked at it.. but to decline submissions. Annoying. Thanks for the blueballs MR. King.
We put the notice in the FAQ to alert people to the fact that he no longer takes submissions since the book will still be out there in its original format so even having that offer deleted for future printings wouldn't entirely remove it from the public. Assuming people would read an FAQ was optimistic but it's there nevertheless. The point of the exercise, or at least his intent, was not to get his feedback but to get you writing. Mission accomplished.
I read the FAQ - but not to be argumentative but there is a gap in your reasoning. If this was just a coy to get us writing then why refuse submissions at all? He could of continued to accept them and never look at them.
I agree though - we shouldn't be writing for Stephen ****ing King's approval (said jokingly of course.) But this doesn't change the big slap in the face as I bought the book brand new.

Yes, he could have continued to accept them but wouldn't that be even worse than being honest that he won't be looking at them?We took submissions when the book first came out and, in fact, sponsored a contest on sk dot com in which Steve picked the winning entry. We got well over 1,000 submissions for that before we cut it off. If it had been up to me, I would have suggested he not include the offer at all for the very reason that people such as yourself would still years later want to be sending them in.

Well isn't this the question of the day? Obviuosly people are in disagreement - some people think a maybe - is a bit better than a 'oh well that was years ago'. Not much to argue here - just a difference of opinion.
My mistake--wasn't paying close enough attention to the avatar.
But it wouldn't have been a maybe and would be misleading people that it would be by accepting more submissions and possibly raise their hopes for a response that would never come. If people can't handle even that kind of rejection, they're going to have a hard time trying to become a published writer.
I do agree that we can agree to disagree.
