Could we get more information on whom this auction is benefiting? I have NO objections to this, but I would like more information. (This will not stop my trying to win the auction.) It may be common knowledge here on this board, but I don't know.

Hi John
Most of the info on Patrick- PITH Pat In the Hat can be found on this thread

Many of us on the SKMB have know Pat over the years. He's an honest hard working guy, who basically gave up his own life to care for his mama- almost 10 years worth. Since her passing he's fallen on hard times. Seems for every step forward, something/ or someone has pushed him back 2 or 3 steps. He's living out of his truck, with two fur balls that he promised mama he watch and keep. It is very difficult to provide required paper work when you only have a PO Box and need to prove you are homeless. He can be parked right outside the offices, but they won;t go see his "home". Instead they require friends, neighbors, past employers ( 10 years ago!) to document for him. Brick walls all the way. Right now, he's parked in a wind storm on an acquaintances farm. He can not stay there. He has no running water, food is kept by ice. He's used any money rec'd to buy gas, food, travel from town to town seeking employment. He just need an honest break in life. We are trying to give him that needed break.

$350.67 so far

That last Dollar.

I'm pulling all the cushions off my sofa, and searching dust bunnies on the floor I'm even checking under beds for that elusive score. I've been in all my pockets of old pants to find a dollar more, to
to make another trip into the eBay bidding war-

Bah I'm out !

D'ya think Maybe eBay would take an I.O.U ?

The amount that I'll be contributing will depend on whether I win the auction or not. I have a figure in mind that I'm willing to go, and if I get out-bid, I'll be contributing that amount anyway.

John
That is very generous. But you really need this book for your most excellent collection, it has to be one of the best out there!

And here's the place to pledge a wee donation maybe if your bid for the fine signed door wedge is unsuccessful.

Hands in pockets people - a dollar at a time .

this is amazing! I had the high bid for a little while today. Its my fault that its over $475 now, but someone is keeps out bidding me. :(

I own every Stephen King book flatsigned by SK except BOBD. Need this to keep my collection complete! takes a lot of work at the bar to keep my collection intact!

This could do with a top up folks, remember - a books just a book to add to your collection. Mayhaps drop a couple of those $$$$ into pats hat after you've had a go at bidding - after all , that's what it's all about. If it can be spared for a book, it can be spared for a friend in a tight spot.

I know what I'd be happier looking at.
