We have a "Watch thread" option, I was wondering if there's an opposite function that blocks or "ignores" a specified thread or subforum? Occasionally there are threads that I would not need or want to see again--sometimes you just get worn out on a topic, ya know?
I've wondered about this, too. I don't play the games, so I've been going to that forum and marking it read before going anywhere else. There are also other threads that I don't want to revisit or comment in.

The Politics thread can get pretty heated as well. I have to admit, although I mark the Football thread, I am not really into football, either

That's a good idea marking a forum read. I'd never done that before but it does clear it out for a while. I don't read the game ones too often, so marking it read works well. Thanks.

I hear ya . . .I just ignore them --been doing it for years and years . . .I don't find it that hard to do.
I can ignore the threads, it's that pesky 'new post' counter at the top that really gets under my skin. I can't handle the pressure of it up there, staring at me, judging me, taunting me with its counts....

I mark all the threads 'read' as soon as I log-on because seeing the new post count is pretty overwhelming for me. I usually know right away which threads I wish to read by the people I follow. There’s a lot I avoid because most often I’ve read about it or scanned over it elsewhere, I don't care to debate . . .it just increases your blood-pressure, nor do I care to piss and moan, or just bitch about headlines in the news.
I feel for the Mods. They can’t skip anything. That’s gotta be tough.
