Hi Neesy
Manitoba and Alberta are supposed to be freezing in the winter, but us softies in Ontario aren't used to it. These temps are just WRONG!!
You are in Ontario? Ooops - my mistake. I somehow got the idea that you were in Edmonton. Cry pardon as they say in TWTTK :surrender:

Just got in the mail the Subterranean Press edition of Worlds Enough And Time that I bought off of thriftbooks.com. It's an ex-library copy but looks like it was only read a few times! I've had to peel off the library stickers that were attached to the dustjacket and it sure looks fine now. This is an anthology of four stories that first appeared in sci-fi magazines and one story making its first appearance here. I really liked the stories. Simmons is a genius!

I got The Abominable for Christmas and I finally got to it. I loved the opening. I did find all the technical climbing stuff a bit of a slog. I am perservering. Finally nearly half way we are near Mt. Everest. So, I'll keep going. I have the gotta. I'll check out the other reccomendations.

I haven't read this one yet (it's on my TBR pile) but when I went to see Simmons during this book tour he did mention that this particular novel might be a bit 'dry' for his fans as it contains alot of technical stuff. He really is a good writer, so if this one doesn't cut it for you don't give up on him, try another of his books. I know you will end up liking him.
