I loved this last Blacklist. Loved it. Spader is so good.

I think Liz is alive. This was her and Tom's way of getting away from Red.
The only thing that's keeping a spark of hope alive for me is that
he was insistent about her body being taken to his people for the burial instead of going to another funeral home. That's why I don't think it was about Liz and Tom getting away from Red as he'd find out she's still alive. I could see Red telling her some story, e.g. that they were killed or the baby died from complications, to keep her from looking for Tom and Agnes, though.

I was quite pleased with myself last night--I deduced who the mystery woman was and what was going on about 2/3 of the way into the episode. The only thing I got wrong was that I thought Red was
still in the opium den where we saw him at the beginning. There was something about the stilted way the woman spoke that made me think she was foreign, and something odd about the way she moved at times that made it seem like a dream.

I have a new theory about what happened last week, though. I think that
it's entirely possible that this was a plot concocted by Liz & Tom to get Liz away from Red. Only if she's dead (to him) will he leave her alone.

Oops..shouldn't have looked at the spoiler. Just realized I hadn't seen this week's episode but have it DVR'd.

And I said the same thing as far as Liz and Tom wanting to get away from Red. He has to think she is dead so they can have a life. I also knew who the beach girl was, knew he was in an opium den. He physically was at the beach, but the characters were in his mind.

He became a hero in his hallucination because he felt like he failed the women in his life. but ultimately, he lost them again.

I just saw that there is going to be a Blacklist spinoff series this fall:

The Blacklist:Redemption will feature Tom Keen joining “Scottie” Hargrave's mercenary organization which solves problems governments can't handle.
I'd heard about the spin off not long after they
killed off Liz.
When I saw last week's episode, I figured that was the direction they would be going with it.

I'm still waiting for
Liz to make a surprise reappearance this week. If she's not back, I'm pretty much done with the show, I think.
I'd be very surprised if that happens other than maybe guest shots in flashbacks as I've reconciled myself that they really meant it this time. Not sure how they're going to proceed with
Tom out of the picture, though. Who would be Red's connection with the FBI team? Maybe he doesn't need one but will give it a few episodes at least to see how it plays out.

And who looks after
the baby if Tom is off fighting crime with
and this is another big
his mother
?
I think that's what we were led to believe would happen.
She's interjected herself a couple times now in that role to keep Agnes safe so even if it's not her personally doing it as she'll be off on her own business, Agnes will be under her supervision in some way. We've now got the Red/Liz relationship dynamics but with Tom/Scottie--is she/isn't she? Having Tom believe she is would make it easier for him to let it happen.
