The Dark Tower is close, now. The Crimson King awaits. Soon Roland will raise the Horn of Eld. And blow."

This tweet got me excited. If Roland has the Horn anything is possible. Wow. Well played Sai King.

Does this mean that the movies will, in fact, not take place during Roland's journey to the Dark Tower that we witnessed in the books, but rather during the following one? So basically the movies will continue where the books left off?

Or maybe it will be a mixture of both: we'll get Roland's companions as in the books, but contrary to the books Roland does have the Horn of Eld with him from the start?

This is what amazes us on the SKMB-- with each new clue comes an education in : patience, curiosity, discipline(not constantly asking about that which cannot be said), restraint (not getting upset at seeing yet another zippy face) , and finally thankfulness for the wonder of something new.

Well, think of it this way. If all of SK's works exist on various levels of the Tower, wouldn't it stand to reason that their adaptations will too? Especially the ones SK is personally involved with? So by that rationale, the film version of Roland and his journey will differ from the book version, but still counts as part of the tale. As for how the cinematic version will end, we shall see when the money starts coming in. I would imagine even if the journey ultimately continues, the film version might have a bit more satisfying conclusion between Roland, Flagg, and the Crimson King.

Things are getting interesting. This was the best move so far showing the horn. King must of woke up and thought I'm gonna blow some minds today on Twitter. People might still be resistant, but when they realize its a continuation its hard to argue with, that the Tower can rearrange anything for any purpose. Last Time Around though, somethings gonna change. Roland's gonna **** up the tower, or whoever's controlling it. Or maybe its more complicated than that. Last time around... Roland might finally get free. Last time around. No one knows whats gonna happen now. Walter might not want Roland to be free from this eternal punishment. Someone might have to take his place. Anything can happen. Walter might of planned all of it at every level.

And isn't this what supporters of Idris have been saying from the very first comment on this topic? Yes. :smile2:

I was satisfied with the ending already.

As was I, which is why I wasn't thrilled with this "adaptation" potentially changing the told story/ending (of the books, not the overall tale). The fact that this looks like it is going to be a continuation of the story, on a different level or however it may be perceived, with Sai King's blessing/input included, makes me much happier. It doesn't attempt to change or retell the original tale from the books.
