Any chance of a sequel to The Stand a la Doctor Sleep to The Shining?

I was quite happy to read Doctor Sleep, having wondered a bit after reading The Shining what might have happened to Danny. I considered re-reading The Shining before Doctor Sleep, but it turns out not to have been necessary, though I plan a binge read of both novels in the near future.

Now, I'm being greedy, because I'd like a sequel to The Stand, please.

I'd say it's highly unlikely. He has a number of other ideas that he'd like to get to and only so much time to write.

That is not possible unless he had the characters live in the seventies or a time before The Dark Tower series. I would love it too, though.
...why the DT series honey?....guess I'm being dense....I get the 70's since that was the time period in which it's set, but I'm not getting the connection with the Tower....

Because in the Tower, Father Callahan speaks of Mark and Ben. Remember what he said?

Well...they DID live in the seventies. Not sure I follow that it's a problem writing a novel set in the seventies. I mean, as long as they don't try to PAY you in 70s dollars!
