I agree totally. I had kind of taken a Stephen King hiatus, until my mom gave me 11/22/63 for Christmas the year it was published (2011?). And it made me remember why I loved him so. Lots to reflect on and lots to make me wonder "what if" about so very many things for the world at large and for my own tiny corner of it. I thought the ending was perfect.

I finally finished 11/22/63 on Friday, and I've reflected on it over the weekend. I think this was one of the best books that I have ever picked up. I loved it. Typical SK characters that just seem so real. Nobody captures true human awkwardness or nature quiet like SK.

I am doing a re-read. I am constantly in awe of King. If I were a writer of fiction, and wanted to write about a murder about to happen....Frank Dunning murdering his family on Halloween, the first thing that would not come to my mind is the hero suffering from stomach cramps, lol. Uncle Steve puts a human twist on everything. That is what makes him so unqiue. It was so horrible and funny at the same time.

The only problem I had with this work,...and it is not a problem with Stephen's writing but with my taste...was that the stuff that happened in Jodie was a little too cutesy for me. I felt like I died and went to Our Town. I do not have a romantic bone in my body lol.

Thank you, just finished The Eyes of the Dragon today, now I need a new book to read. I'm thinking about reading The Dead Zone or maybe Salem's Lot. Still getting my feet wet in SK novels, and I have heard and read a lot of good things about both of these books.
Your welcome. I haven't read The Dead Zone yet, but Salem's Lot is a great book, for sure.
