Good evening!

I can't find a TV thread that we can post different tv shows we're currently watching.

Just a heads up, Strange Things drops tomorrow, June 15, 2016 on NetFlix.

skimom2 I looked and this might be okay for your Lil Man (Cross between Goonie and E.T. but much darker according to one description. ) Maybe something y'all can enjoy this summer.

I'm starting American Gothic (1995) tonight.

Visit Trinity, South Carolina, a small town with more chills than charm. Sheriff Lucas Buck won't let anyone - including local doctor Matt Crower or the determined Gail Emory - stand in the way of his evil plans.

The season 1 is available on Hulu+

AND I'm going to check out Home Free

Couples compete in weekly challenges to restore run-down homes with their DIY and home improvement skills for the chance of winning their dream home.

I so totally suk with DIY and I love it when people can do stuff to their house without blowing out that electric panel thing or sawing a whole in the floor.

Have a great evening!

Thank you, m'dear! I'll for sure take a look with The Kid :).

Right now I'm almost finished with the second season of Peaky Blinders, and I love it. My oldest is just finishing the third season, and when he saw that I'd started it was WAY enthusiastic. As he put it, "It's like Sons of Anarchy, but not stupid." ;-D I've never seen that show, BTW, so I'm not passing judgment. Both my older kids say it started off well but had issues later--who knows? I'm also watching Him and Her on Hulu occasionally.

Is anyone watching the second season of Wayward Pines?

I posted this in another thread but what the heck, I'll post it here too.

Preacher on AMC. It's based on a comic that I've never read or heard of so I went into this without knowing anything about it. I was a little confused after episode 1 (but still enjoyed the episode) and then I saw the Talking Preacher episode and that cleared things up some. The show is three episodes old now and I like it a lot. It jumps all over the place, so pay attention.

I've seen the first two episodes of the AMC show Feed The Beast and liked it some. I'm not sure about this one yet but I'm still interested. It's kind of like a cooking show meets the Sopranos. ;-D

I forgot about Feed The Beast, thanks. I'm waiting for the Twin Peaks reboot and the miniseries The World According To Garp. Both will be on Showtime, I think.

There is a Garp mini-series? Let me know if you like it or not. I don't get showtime but if it's good, I'll look for it later when it's on dvd or netflix.

John Irving was asked to write it and he has mentioned it is close to being ready. I think it has been filmed and will be out soon. I need to check on this. My understanding is that it will be narrated by the transgender character, Roberta. Not sure if you have read it or not so I won't say more. I certainly will let you know what I think when it comes out. (I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that they don't botch the IT movie coming next year. Like Muskrat said, I hope they keep the time period the same as the book.)

I'm waiting for a couple more episodes of Wayward Pines so I can binge watch. I'm doing the same for Casual (I LOVE Casual. It makes me smile, laugh, cry and call bad characters bad names =D .) And I'll check out Him and Her. Thanks!

I found this

John Irving's "The World According to Garp" is coming around again, this time as an HBO miniseries. : books

I've watched four episodes of American Gothic (1995 Hulu+) and it's pretty good. Like Leland Gaunt with a badge. And an entire little town to fook around with. xD I have 18 episodes to go. :Oo:

I liked American Gothic quite a bit. Caught it back when it was on in 1995. That's the show with the kid from Slingblade, correct?

I struggled through one episode of Home Free but nope.

If you're going to watch Wayward Pines on Hulu, remember that they only cache 5 episodes of current series at a time :) There are 3 there now, so I'll probably start it this weekend, just to be sure I don't miss the first ep before it drops off. That happened with the second season of The Blacklist, and I never bothered to watch when it eventually turned up on Netflix--lost interest.

You're welcome! I can't think of a current show where they keep more than 5 at a time. Once the season is over and the new season starts, they'll usually have the whole past season, usually. Some shows, though...nope. For example, I wanted to watch Castle from the beginning, but they only have a few episodes of the newest season and some odd episodes from past seasons. Who the heck knows why?
