I'm a little surprised Jake never heard of Richie Tozier when he met him. Richie is a famous DJ...Maybe a Casey Kasem type.....I assume he would have a nationally syndicated show from the 80s till who knows when. Maybe not...Just on my mind.

maybe richie moved on from radio. or it could be as simple as him not thinking of that sort of thing at the time. the time travel already messing with your head means making a connection like that might be a little hard under the circumstances. radio DJ's are never gonna be brad pitt famous after all

I know, these are just the little things I always think about when I read books or watch shows. And yeah DJs aren't normally famous but if he is making the kind of money they mention in the book... I'm guessing he isn't a local guy. Kasem, stern, rush, Imus...There are a few names. Anyway it's a long shot but ya never know.

First famous DJ I remember is Wolfman Jack.

In adulthood, he is a successful disc jockey in Los Angeles. As the DJ, he uses his once-annoying and unrealistic voices as one of his main attractions. He has bad eyesight and wears thick glasses as a child, but changes to contact lenses as an adult. Although it is unclear if he was the basis of the character's name and occupation, Maine Public Radio has a music program hosted by a Rich Tozier.

Eh, that's not surprising.

You think I know any famous DJs? Course Jake is older than I am but my brother is about the same age. Early thirties. I doubt he can name a DJ on the radio. Maybe we can name about three to four radio talk show hosts but that's about it.

At the time of It, the later part where Richie is a DJ, Jake only would have been 8/9 years old and living in Wisconsin. Could be he never heard of the guy (depending on Richie's market, if he was syndicated and how his career went afterward) or if he WAS famous enough to be heard of he could have just been off George's radar. There are different levels of fame and very few are universally famous. Also Richie/Rich Tozier isn't a name as generic/common as John Smith but not necessarily one that would hit him like a bolt of lightning if he heard it. I actually had to stop and think about the name for a second and unlike Jake I have read a book about the kid. It's been a while though so that's why it took me a second, but it didn't just jump out at me as an obvious connection and I had to think of where I knew the name from. He could have actually listened to his show but not put 2 and 2 together just by his name. Especially given how much was on his mind at the time.
