Watching Jessica and Susan chew up these roles is going to make for helluva fun methinks. Really enjoyed the first ep and learned a lot! I also had no idea that WHTBJ was a book and I love the movie.
And yes, Kathy Bates makes everything better no matter what she is in.
Hello tax commercial with creepy children. That's the only ad I stop and watch on my DVR ;-D

Poor Joan - she worked so hard. Bette was a devil may care kind of girl, it seems.
Catherine Zeta Jones is gorgeous. "Feuds are about pain. (dramatic pause....) They're about pain".
I wonder if those girls ever thought about quitting smoking. They totally chain smoked.
Everybody chain smoked back then. It was expected. :fat:

that dollhouse at the end of the street
Let me know if they show the scene where Bette says: 'But, ya are, Blanche! Ya ARE stuck in that chair!' Makes me laugh every time!!

 I hope they do !!!

I recorded this days ago and still hadn't watched it yet, so I'm still looking forward to it at the moment, but I wanted to drop this off in here for anyone who didn't have the FX channel that's is showing it....

You would love it. fersure.

I just like looking at Jessica Lange's face. And I love her voice. She brings it.

Both of them - Susan and Jessica are among my favorite women of Hollywood. I think I noticed Jessica for the first time in Frances. It was on HBO when I was a kid and she was something else - I read a biography on Frances Farmer just because of Jessica's performance. I'm sure I saw her in King Kong, but I didn't pay much attention. And then with Tommy Lee Jones in Blue Skies - she was a nut. And that one where she plays Patsy Cline "Chahhhleee". Everything she does glows. I know she's burning it up in American Horror Story, but I can't watch that show. The visuals won't get out of my head. oOOH - Men Don't Leave - with Arliss Howard. I keep thinking of more. gotta stop, am at work.

And Susan. Dear God. Men just fall out around her. Bull Durham! She was in Memphis filming a John Grisham movie - The Client maybe -ages and ages ago? And I spied her in a local bookstore that's long closed now. But she was just stunning and casual. I dassn't approach. I didn't want to go all fan-girl on her. It seems like she had some kids with her.

Anyhow - great picks on who to play Joan and Bette. I am so loving this show.
