So i'm thinking, this is a stand alone story about an alternate gunslinger- right?

But what is confuddling my brain is i thought there could be only one Roland- he darkles he tincts!

so if he (our Roland)is travelling the multiverse recruiting from mid world end world as time moves on, can there be another fighting for the good of the 'white'? at the same time- two doctors causing chaos ??
two men with no names charging after the man in black? but....

does that then mean there are two men in black ??? or three or four - and how many towers ??? the whole point was 1 tower yeh? but then do all these alternate Roland's head for this one tower ?????

surely not-
