Well in Vancouver (Canada) it has been pouring for the past few days but that is just the way it is here.
Has anyone saw the Aurora Borealis last night, it is supposed to be visible even over the great lakes and
SW British Columbia too. Too cloudy here last night to see anything, but it is supposed to happen at
least another 2 nights so may get lucky and see it. There was a write uo about it on the MSN homepage
yesterday.
....got to see it once, from the shore of a remote lake WAY outside Nakina, Ontario....was on a fishing trip......and for the only time in my life-I felt very small.....

Sandy, I'd love to see the Northern Lights. I hope you have your camera with you. Do you still take photographs?
Here is a beautiful video of the Aurora Borealis that I have enjoyed.

The first year we spent up here, we lived in Seattle, in the city. One night I was watching the 11:00 news when the weatherman said that the aurora was visible right then. It was February, IIRC. I grabbed a jacket and ran outside. Sure enough, there it was in the western sky, shockingly bright for all the city light. I was mesmerized. I still have not seen it again, even though they have supposedly shown up a few times. My daughter is dying to see it and thinks that she's cursed never to do so. Stupid clouds.

Amazing video, thanks! No we were not able to see the 'light show' as we call it around here. Vancouver was in a
heavy rain warning for those days and it definitely did rain Hadn't saw rain like that in a long time. Had one day of sun while I was there and that was Thursday. I ended up with 4 pictures that I like -- 2 of flowers and 2 of ships coming into English Bay.
When I left the cherry blossoms were out. That was an amazing sight, the day before nothing and the next morning
I looked out and cherry blossoms everywhere. So beautiful.
Going back in June and looking forward to Stanley Park for pictures. Anne leaves about 500 yards from where the Parkk
begins.Did walk down to Lost Lagoon and saw and fed all the critters (chipmunks, squirrels, herons, cranes and raccoons,
etc.) On the way back saw a black bear and her cub but they took off before I could even focus the camera.

Yes, I am told they are a humbling sight. One day I will get to see them. What were you fishing for in Ontario?
Pickerel? Trout? I have always wanted to go fishing for halibut in the North.

....this was back in 2000, when I went with a group of guys that included my Uncle and my Dad...Unc goes every year with the same Outfitter who leases different lakes, but it was special because Dad and I hadn't been fishing together in a long time.....we fished primarily for Walleye....man that is a tasty game fish when first cleaned and thrown in some cornmeal/flour and fried!....the group hooked some Perch as well, but the biggest thing you had to fight around with was Northern Pike-those damn "snakes" will bite on anything!......

FlakeNoir Prayers for all in the flood areas. Be safe!
Thank you lovey, this is all happening in Aussie right now, we're good here. Apparantly the storm cell is headed our way from tomorrow probably, but it should have lost much of it's power by then.

....property is eventually replaceable....I hope there is no to very low death toll in this.....

My heart is sick for them. Water damage is just a nightmare to deal with, and I hope everyone and animals were safe and found and taken in.

Last night I think the death toll was at 5.

Find your most trusted weather station and stay tuned. Never trust a storm cell until it is well past your area. Mother Nature plays nasty tricks. Safety shield for all in the path. Prayers for all who now deal with the clean up and aftermath.

Never liked fishing for Pike. They are like reeling in a log. They are bottom feeders too, so I wouldn't eat them. I agree,
there is no better eating than fresh fish over an open fire.
