Hi folks,

Some years ago, I read a short story contained within a Stephen King collection which was about a person(s) who drive out into the country and becomes helplessly lost - driving round for hours and ending up in exactly the same point each time!

I thought the book was SKELETON CREW (which I recently purchased), but it does not seem to be in there?

I wondered, please, if anyone knew as to which book/story I am referring to here?

Many thanks in advance . . .

I immediately thought Mrs. Todd's Shortcut but the characters don't really get lost. Is it possible that you read the story in a collection of horror tales with various writers. The only other stories I can think of about characters getting lost are:
You Know They Got A Helluva Band
Crouch End
Neither really fits your exact description.

Can it be Children of the Corn?

Didn't they end up at the same spot a couple of times - in the movie at least?

Apart from that I really doubt it's by King. Most stories of people getting lost while driving in the country have already been mentioned.

Gerald - Yes, its a typical synopsis!

This was a short story of which literally consists purely of the driver driving round in circles! Or at least thats how I remember it.
