Does anyone happen to have a second Slipcase they don't need that came with the Dark Tower reissue from Grant (Gunslinger 3rd Editon, DT II 2nd Edition, DT III)

Though I am making my own custom set of slipcases for the entire DT series. I now have a Grant set that came with their official slipcase, but the case was damaged.

Thanks

I would contact Grant and ask them to replace the damage slipcase. They should do that.

Unfortunately I got the set from eBay, so I don't think they would replace it. I wouldn't mind paying for a replacement since it matches the other grant cases. But I have contacted them twice and have never gotten a response. Strange that they sell the other two cases still on their website but not this one.

Could you contact Betts Books and see if he has a lead?

Yes. I might have to. Gonna be tricky because I don't have an exact match of the black faux leather that is used on those.
You could purposely do like a red black checker on the back, or solid red or something totally different, but work it into your design. You will think of something creative.

So I came up with a solution to the bottom broken part (where there was a crack and hole nearly punched threw) by pushed that back down enough and using a new insert piece in the case to reinforce the bottom when the books are inside. As for the crushed corner, I think I am just gonna live with it. There are two parts where the seam on the bottom and side and ripped open. I was able to re-work the material and put the tear back in place. So now I am thinking about cutting two very thin strips of the faux leather that I have and glue it over top those two tears along the seam. It won't be exact match, but it is close and the flaws are all on the bottom side of the slipcase when it is on a shelf, so you can't see it too much.

Still, Start with Grant. I got mine just a year or so ago after I emailed Robert (the owner). It had the most minor of scratches, but there might still be some there at his "warehouse" that are quite acceptable.

I actually called and talked to someone there. They said they had some with slight damage and would send me photos but never did. No one ever responded to my email either. :too_sad:

I have purchased after market cases from stephenkingcollector.com and they are stunning! I like them better than the Grant cases, to tell the truth. They are for each individual book and look great. He also has cases for Cycle Of The Werewolf and the limited edition of The Dead Zone.

I think Robert is pretty much a one man shop these days, so things slip his mind. If you really would prefer the original covers, just keep reminding him. Don't take his forgetfulness personally.

As others have said, there are SEVERAL other aftermarket covers that are arguably nicer, it just depends on how attached you are to Grant's.

If you're still looking for this slipcase I believe I can help. I have an extra one.
