I'm not a real emotional person; I don't cry easily or often. Thanks a bunch Steve. :angry_002:

I'm a little more than halfway through The Dark Tower and

Jake just got killed. I'd made the mistake of reading a thread here in which the posting member didn't use spoiler tags and told me Eddie was going to die, and fortunately that was only about 30 pages before that happened. I was so not prepared for Jake to get killed, particularly HOW he got killed. And then? After Roland buries him? Oh, forget about it!! I'm a blubbering mess.

Am I the only sap who cried at this point?

I meant to add that there are spoilers in the title of this thread. Oops.

Yes, I cried three times (or maybe four, when I got to the 'real' ending) while reading this book. Steve had me wrung out! When it's my time to go to the path in the clearing, I would like the passage that Roland reads in the woods to be read for the folks at my funeral. I think it's simply one of the best passages I've ever read.

every loss thereafter just kept pounding what was left of me into the dirt.

I think I probably called Stephen every name under the sun during this journey. It's possible I even made a few up.

I'm afraid to open any spoilers because I'm still only on page 601. I'm gobbling it up, but I don't want it to end!

I love that thought, kingricefan.

The "real" ending, as you guys are putting it, I can't begin to imagine and while I want to know how it ends, I can't imagine having to put this series down because I've finished it. I'll be in a state of awestruck contemplation, I have no doubt.

No,I can't say I cried at the end..I shut the book,kept holding it,and was thinking about it..I also read it as published,a lot of years invested..and then like dawn breaking,the perfectness,the utter genius of the end,grabbed me and I smiled..that's all,just smiled..thank you good sir for the journey..:grinning:

Blaze and Joyland were two others that pulled at my heart strings. Stephen King has always made me think of good times, though. He can make me laugh like a madman. He writes about death, yes, but more often than not I'm thinking of his optimism and patriotism. He's documented rural Americana (baseball, small town hubbub, academia, beer and rock music) like no other writer. His books are packed with emotion and, similar to Grace Metalious' Peyton Place, reflect the world in which I grew up.

Lol, wait till the books end. You aint done crying yet. I did cry for this book....yes.

When I read the last book, I came unto this site to complain about this book...to yell at Stephen. I tried to restrain myself and met some of the best people I have ever known.

Your spoiler is correct, that's the passage. There something about those words that spoke to my soul.
