....it's where he's referenced in "Bones" per our own website, novel by novel character listings....hell, I dunno-I'm just an old grump trying to help...get offa my lawn!.....
aaahhh. Thanks for that. I haven't discovered that part of the website yet,so of course haven't seen the reference. Just goes to show the things that can be missed even when reading a book for the 3rd time, which is why I usually read SK's books multiple times. There's always something else to discover and on which to ruminate.

finally read this. loved it. he always excels at longer stories, and the characterization was great. i probably missed some cues somewhere because i was wrapped up in the story, but i was actually a bit surprised when i figured out what it was all building up to, much like mike's surprise (i was surprised in a good way). which i guess means that the story did a good job of demonstrating the vague sort of way mike was treating the whole ghost thing compared to the other situation he was dealing with. i loved the guest stars and references. ralph roberts, bill denbrough, joe wyzer, sherriff norris ridgewick. although i was slightly disappointed at the throwaway line we got detailing thad beaumont's ultimate fate. i also thoroughly enjoyed all the real life authors he name dropped while describing the process of mike's writing and publishing. i'm sure he was basing this at least some on his own knowledge of the publishing industry, and seeing all those names, most of which i at least know of even if i haven't given them a try, was pretty cool, and lent the novel a bit more realism to me.

I liked Ralph, too. I don't have a favorite spot in my heart for the novel Insomnia, tho. I just couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to think that someone of Ralph's age would know and like songs by Pearl Jam, etc. Just didn't ring true to me. Insomnia could've (and probably should've) been edited down a couple hundred pages. Just abit too long....

I didn't think twice about that at all...of course, my parents (both 72) have always been open to new music. My dad, for example, loves Guns N Roses, Nine Inch Nails (their duet with Johnny Cash on "Hurt" is one of his favorite songs.) My mom is an avid AC/DC, Saliva, and Linkin Park fan, and she's very upset about Chester's suicide. So I didn't even blink twice at that.

Hello,

Some of you may remember me from a few years back and Keith, I have just finished BoB for the 11th time yes you read correctly. Love it. I saw the film with Pierce Brosnan a few months ago enjoyed it.
While I did enjoy the movie, I thought Pierce Brosnan was too old to play the main character. There was way too much of an age difference between him and the love interest.

Read it three times. I quoted it in a note I enclosed with the photos I wanted signed when I sent same to Rush. They signed. And I made a sign for my front row show in front of the bass player: "Thank you for being the first bird to sing into my silence." The reference, of course, to Ralph being said for our hero.

Reading this now, and about 1/2 way through. For some reason I remember the beginnings of the story having never read it. I must have seen part one of the movie with Pierce Brosnan at some point. Now that I'm beyond the part I remember it's picking up for me. He seems pretty nochalant regarding a ghost who speaks and moves letters around on ths fridge though, I'd be freaking out and calling the ghost hunters.

...if the ghostbusters are like some on TV, it would be a whole lot of "Whoa! Dude!!" and no evidence of anything except them shatting their pantaloons.....
