I am a collector of Stephen King hardcovers, and just recently ventured into the world of the Dark Tower series. I noticed there was a recently released HC version of The Gunslinger, which, needless to say, I snapped up. It was a Scribner edition to tie in with the movie, I would assume. I know other versions of the series were recently released on PB and trade size PB, but The Gunslinger seems to be the only one in HC.

So I went on a quest for The Drawing of the Three and....woah. Apparently, there was a HC release from a few years ago that now, on the secondary market, is going for an average of 75 bucks!

My question is...does anyone know off hand if the other DT books will be released on HC, at a decent price? Anyone heard anything?

You might be better off just going for the original Grant versions. You can still get an Artist Edition of DT VII for $65 and The Wind Through The Keyhole for $75. Also, they have a deal going if you buy the gift set of Talisman/Black House you can get a copy of DT VII all for $165! That's a sweet deal!

You can probably pick up the other original Grant hardcovers on ebay. I wouldn't pay over $75 for any of them. Keep searching around. Look on abebooks also. I've found original Grant editions at various thrift stores and used book stores. I picked up a nice copy of The Waste Lands at a Value Village for $2.99 once.

I have been on the hunt for first editions of the first four DT books for many years. I have a hardcover of The Wastelands, but it's not a first printing. Last time I was seriously looking for a 1st of The Drawing of the Three, I couldn't find one for less than $75. :(
