Last night I got to see Steve and Owen in St. Louis or technically it was in St. Charles. First off I don't live in the area so I wasn't familiar with where I was going. But I got to the hotel and decided to go see if there was a line. There was a small line probably 50 people. This is around 4:00 pm and I decided to grab a bite to eat. Got back around 5:00 pm and the line was about a mile long. I was so pissed at myself. I should've just got in line and ordered Jimmy John's. Oh well so I stood for about an hour and doors were supposed to open at 6:00 pm and to the credit of the organizers the door's opened at 6. My only other complaint was the way they let us in. It was very difficult to figure out what line to be in and people stood in the wrong line for longer than they needed to. But finally got my wristband and it was orange. They did different colors. (Purple was the 1st released and the orange was 2nd). Steve and Owen came out to roaring applause and Owen talked 1st and read from the book. Then Steve took over and read for awhile. Then they started to talk to each other. I must say as a guy who's the almost the same age as Owen and seeing how him and his father interact is very heart warming. You can almost feel the love and pride Steve has for his baby boy. And they asked each other some really good questions and some of the highlights were Steve talking about his next book which is titled The Outsider and it's being released next June. Owen terrorized Steve with a gift from a fan for years and Steve has no clue about Eyes of the Dragon. Finally the audience got to ask questions and they were pretty standard there were a few I liked. I have some pic's and video's I will post up somewhere and will let you know where. Unfortunately it ended about 8:30. They released us and I was fortunate to get a signed book. I must say even if I didn't get a book the talk was worth it. It was so good.

I wonder if The Outsider will be a Charles Starkweather-inspired book? A wild guess but King has sometimes mentioned him. Odd coincidence, but I seem to remember King was on a book tour when the Orlando mass shooting took place. Now he is on tour in the midst of the Las Vegas incident.

I woke up this morning excited to tell my story about last night and turned on the news to hear about the shooting. Needless to say I was heartbroken for those people and I wasn't so excited anymore
