Our event in Missoula held 1100 people so our odds were 1 in 3. Portland, OR only had around 800 seats so 1 in 2. there.
Do you know how many people were at the Brooklyn event at St. Ann's and Holy Trinity Church? That was such a gorgeous venue. I took pictures of the Church itself, it was so gorgeous. I love churches even though I'm not big on organized religion...

I'm still not in a good position to post a pic, but i did forget to mention that the selby public library was very nice. They had an awesome arch that doubled as an aquarium, that i didn't think to take a pic of (maybe there's one in the internet i can find later), and the staff was very friendly and efficient. So many people contributed to making this awesome experience, and i can't thank them enough.

Sorry about the book incident, SRBO, but you did get to meet our lovely Marsha and the fabulous Neesy!!! And you got to see Steve and Owen and get to hear them talk and laugh. For me the real treat was just that- getting to see Marsha and Tina (cat in a bag) and seeing Steve and Owen and enjoying their laughter. You guys took a great picture! Next time I'm wearing co-ordinating outfits!!!! ;-D
:applause: Yes, KRF! You would look lovely in that shade of pink!;-D

I'm so glad some of our Tet got to visit with the lovely Ms. Mod. Making me more ready for King Kon 2018! :love_heart:

You should put this website on your 'favorites' list as he gets information at times before it's allowed to be posted here.
Ha! I already did. It's great! I spent a couple of hours there. Read a fantastic interview with Ms. Mod there. She seems so down to earth too. These are really good people. Not at all pretentious. What a breath of fresh air, especially in our society today.

Hi, Gunners.
The Toronto Stop:
Neesy gave you already a lot of detail, so I`m just gonna fill in the blanks, if I may say so. :)
The trip to TO was awesome, some guy sat beside me and talked all the time about his life. He wasn`t boring or offensive, it just looked like he needed someone to listen to him, so a complete stranger seemed like a good choice for him. I didn`t mind, it was an interesting story and the 2 hours and 15 minutes flew by in no time.
I got there an hour and half earlier than the lunch with Marsha and Neesy was scheduled, so instead of taking a cab to te diner, or the subway, I walked from the Greyhound station all the way up to Yonge and Bloor.
TO is a beautiful city and I haven`t been there for a long time s why not a bit of sightseeing? :) Quite a walk tough, took me about an hour to get there.
Then I finally got to the diner and Marsha was already there, waiting for me outside.
The felling of seeing my friend in the flesh, for real, after 10 years of virtual friendship was simply overwhelming. My heart was hammering like I`m meeting SK himself. What a hug and a kiss on the cheek I gave her, it was long overdue.
Beautiful lady, with a radiant smile and if I were Ralph Roberts and could have seen her aura, I`m sure it would have been one the most beautiful things I have seen in life.
We took a table for four, talked a bit, and I asked her where Steve is at this exact moment. She says: " No idea, he is probably in his room writing."
I sat there stunned..." The guy is on a booktour and he is writing? "
" Oh yeah", - she says, " He is, and not as much as he wants to. "
Talk about dedication to art.
After a short while, Neesy and Josh arrived, hugs and smiles all around. Neesy and her son Josh are wonderful people, warm, funny, i felt like I`ve known them forever, especially Neesy, she has a great sense of humor and made me laugh all the time. So, we had lunch, took some pics, selfies and whatnot, talked about the board, Steve, Owen, Joe, exchanged some presents, Marsha was so very kind to sign a copy i brought of Wizard and Glass, since that book is dedicated to her and make it out for my daughter. My kiddo already has a signed copy now by one of the best people in the world. :) And then it was time for Marsha to get ready for the event.
Neesy, Josh and I decided to find the venue right away, just so we know where it is, and the walk to there was so long, we also got confused a few times which way to go, that once we got there, we decided simply to stay there, even though there was still about 2.5 hours till the event, but we were already somewhat tired, so we got us some coffee and waited. Goofing around all the time, Neesy is a really good an funny person, I had lots of fun with her and Josh. She already told you about the creep who was waiting to snatch somehow an autograph from SK in any way possible. And it wasn`t possible, when SK, OK, Marsha and whoever else got there, they took the far back entrance, security all around, I saw them getting out of the car, but to get to SK was simply not possible. So, I didn`t even try, it was good enough for me to actually see them all in broad daylight, if only a glimpse.
And then it was time for the show, Neesy told you about it ( btw, we didn`t get to sit together, different seats and far apart ) there is also the video in the comments here and all I can say is that it was real honor to see them talk, laugh, they were super generous in answering some q`s from the audience and some sweet stories were shared. My favorite story was when Steve said that when Owen was little, one night he would keep coming back from bed to Steve, who was writing, and asking him to sing him various songs so he can get to sleep. And SK says: " Man, I was so deep in the story that I simply told him to eff off and go to sleep already. " Loads of laughter. A lot was said, some stories we knew, like the old lady in the supermarket who told Steve that she doesn`t like his stories and was wondering why he can`t write something nice like Shawshank Redemption, for instance.
The show simply blitzed by, that hour and 10 minutes or so was the shortest hour in my life. It`s not that they are only great writers, it`s that they are truly good, great human beings.
And now, the bummer part.
Nessy doesn`t even know about it, Marsha knows a part of it.
During the event, I made some quick friends with people who were sitting around me, four of them, and we were sharing our passion for King.
Now, when the event was over, we were rushing outside in hope to get a signed copy and we were one of the 30 or 40 people who first got there where they were handing out the books. Some lady was responsible for keeping people in line and se kept saying " Folks, have your raffle tickets ready so you can pick up your book. "
I thought she was talking about the ticket I had for the show, I had not other ticket. When I got to the table to get a book the lady goes " Where is your raffle ticket? " I showed her my ticket to the show, I had nothing else. " No, no, the yellow raffle ticket you got when they scanned your ticket for the show. "
" I don`t have anything else, lady, nobody gave me such a ticket. "
" Yes, they did, check your pockets. "
" Lady, they did not and this is the only ticket I got. "
She looks at me like I`m a terrorist, takes me out of the line, says " Stay there, we are gonna get to the bottom of this, but you can`t get a book. "
I stood there like somebody hit me in the face with a sledgehammer. The four people I made friends with were behind me in line, and when she took me out of the line, they got to the table and every single one of them got a signed copy. I can`t describe you the feeling I had, one of those copies should have been mine.
So, I get my cellphone out and I says to the lady: :" Do you work for Mr King? "
"Yes."
" Then take a look at these pictures, I just had lunch with Marsha, I did not weasel my way into the event, how would I have done it anyway with all the security? I don`t have a dang raffle ticket and it`s the event peoples fault. "
She looks at the pics, looks at me and says; " OK, but you have to wait here until ALL the people get out, I have to make sure there is enough books for everyone, and if there is one left, you`ll get it. "
My friends, I can`t describe to you how bummed I was, how unreal all that looked to me. So, the never ending line of people is walking by picking up their books, many yell in delight `cause they got a signed one, Neesy and Josh pick up their copies, no luck for them...and there I stand waiting for 950 people to walk buy and pick up their books.
When the line was done, it was only me, the lady, three other ladies who were giving out the books and the security.
And one, single, lonely book on the table, which they finally gave to me and of course it wasn`t signed.
Well....what can I say, I wont write how I felt about all that, you can all imagine. I just walked out of the building very, very slow, to tell the truth, almost fighting back tears.
Anyhow, I`m happy I saw Marsha, Neesy, Josh, our fave writer and his son and it will be for sure a day I will never forget.
Thank you Marsha, Neesy, Josh, Steve and Owen for giving me memories that will last a lifetime.

Well Marsha looks beautiful - me, on the other hand...

Looks like it's time to head back to the gym.

p.s. Srbo - perhaps in the future you can get your copy signed I hope!

Like Andy says - hope is a good thing - it was wonderful to spend some time with you :cheerful:

Thank you all for reading and the comments.
Yes, of course the main thing was to hang out with Marsha, see and hear SK and OK, enjoy the wonderful company of Neesy and Josh and, like I said, I will treasure these memories forever.
But I would be lying if I didn`t say how much all that crap about the book hurt me. Raffle ticket or no raffle ticket, I was supposed to get a book, it is included in the ticket price and of course I know that it didn`t have to be a signed book. But a book was nevertheless guaranteed, so I don`t understand her telling me I can`t get a book at all, and then later on I will be getting one IF there is one left.
What the hell do you mean "IF"? I paid for it, there are no ifs and buts, a book is mine.
I would really like to know who that woman is and why she, in all honesty, treated me like garbage. How can that happen at a Stephen King event?!
They just should have let me be, pick up a book, signed or not ( but it would have been signed if they didn`t pull me out of line ) and let me the hell leave. But no, they pull me out of line, everybody is looking at me like I`m a criminal, the security glances at me every 3 seconds. I was so angry and even ashamed, even though it was no fault of mine, I just felt like it would be best if the earth swallows me right there on the spot... :(
I waited for FORTY minutes until everybody was out, my kid`s Godfather was waiting for me outside the venue to pick me up, had to change parking spots constantly so he wouldn`t get a ticket, he called me three times asking what the hell is going on and why am I not exiting the building.
Sorry my friends if I`m bothering you with all this and spoiling the fun, but it was unfair, unprofessional and a really bad experience that hurt me.
And if I can`t talk about this to you, then I can`t talk about it to anyone, because you are my friends, my family and you will understand.
Thanks again for your kindness.

...Srbo, I feel badly about how you were treated and would be willing to track you down an autographed copy...

Thank you, bro. In all honesty, I would like the same, but...I have no clue how.
Happy Sunday, tet-mates.

I'm sorry this happened and has been very upsetting for you, & I imagine if it had happened to me I would probably be very anxious and embarrassed to be pulled out of line in front of everyone like that.

Sorry to hear about this, Srbo. It's unacceptable; someone should make this right. Who knows, maybe some anonymous fan will see this and send you one. Don't scoff, there are many kind souls here, as you know. I don't want to be presumptuous but maybe Marsha can pull some strings or Steve and Owen will see this and send you a signed copy. That'd be awesome. Hoping for the best.

I would have felt the same, SRBO. I know how it feels to be singled out like that and humiliated, trust me. That woman was very unprofessional. She was probably worried that there wouldn't be any books left over for herself! Perhaps you can email the folks that sponsored the event and explain what happened? I would.

I must say this breaks my heart and yet angers me. It is sad how such things tend to happen. I wonder what that person would feel like if the table was turned and it happen to her.

No you have every right to be upset. Contact the indego/chapters as they where the ones who where part of the event. You could try Simon and shuster Canada and try and find the promo person. Lastly I whould send ms -mod a private message telling her. She may be able to find you a sighted copy. She may also like to know what happens so she can investigate it further. I whould at least let me mod know. That was stupid.
