Miriam Hopkins day on the TCM. When I left for work they had the excellent 1931 version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Man, Fredric March earned his Oscar for that one. Now Miriam co-stars with Errol Flynn in Virginia City. Not the best western I’ve seen. Never understood why they put Flynn in westerns. Almost as bad as Bogart playing a Mexican...ye gods, they didn’t. Eep, they did.

That’s showbiz fer ya, dingos...

The Jungle. An Australian movie about three guys lead astray in the amazonas. With Daniel Radcliffe in the lead. Pretty decent drama adventure based on a true story. Think Alive in the Amazonas instead of the Andes and with a twist but without the eating humans part. But Alive was a stronger movie.

"Kidnap" with Halle Berry. A 2-hour snooze fest detailing what NO mother would do in the case of her child being kidnapped. If any mom sees this movie, please let me know if this is realistically how you would handle your child being abducted...groan......lol

A Christmas Horror Story. Saw this last year but watched it again with my fiance after the two year old crashed out Saturday night. She liked it a lot, as did I for the second time. A very cool anthology of tales with a helluva twisted ending....and William Shatner...win-win...lol

Cornbread, Earl & Me (1975) Laurence Fishburne, Bernie Casey, Moses Gunn

A pretty good flick with horrible overly dramatic music. A high school basketball player is gunned down by the police in a case of mistaken identity and the police try to cover up the truth. Laurence Fishburne was only 13 or 14 in this and he steals the show.

I watched Get Out last night and loved it. I’m a big Key and Peele fan, so am happy for Jordan Peele who wrote and directed. My son asked me what it was about, and I found it very hard to describe. I saw this critic’s review on Rotten Tomatoes which helps tell what the film is about:
“Peele succeeds where sometimes even more experienced filmmakers fail: He's made an agile entertainment whose social and cultural observations are woven so tightly into the fabric that you're laughing even as you're thinking, and vice-versa.”

Highly recommend you watch!!!!

I saw this in the theater and thought it was pretty good too.

Paddington 2 - sheer delight from start to finish
Only The Brave - seems like routine action/adventure with soap opera elements: far more than that. Go in without reading anything about it.
Justice League - a great improvement on Man Of Steel and Batman vs Superman: a very welcome air of optimism and lightness of tone are present
