I was at my creative writing group for women in Derry (NH), and I was walking through the children's section of the Derry Public Library, when I saw this on display:

Now of course I'm thinking, "are they really celebrating an iconic image in a town with the same name IN THE CHILDREN'S SECTION???:ops:
I wonder if they even gave it a thought... perhaps coincidence?
:sure:

And author's last name is an anagram for 'a misery'. Ok, that was a stretch.

Are you working on any short stories in your group? A novel? I miss my writers' group.

I looked the book up on Amazon and a couple of reviewers noticed the similarities between Float and IT. Everyone else seemed to love it. Evidently, it’s a wordless picture book. I don’t know how anyone who’s even vaguely familiar with IT could read this to small children and not worry it would cause nightmares!

Amazon review:

Umm was this written by Stephen King? There are some pretty creepy similarities. The illustrations are nice I guess if you've never seen IT...

I've seen it in our library, too. The similarities are hard to ignore.

Yes!! We all are working on our own independent things, but right now my collection is of short stories (and a novel that I can't get off the ground)

So it is not just me thinking this is weird then! I'll go have a chat with the librarians in charge of the display, just to satisfy curiosity. I wonder if they actually know IT! Trust me, it would come as no surprise if they had never read IT.

Agghh!!! Could she not have waited until she was over her cold to do the review?! Yuck!!!
:sleep_pig::m_sneeze:

It sounds like she puts up videos on a regular basis - yeah - the coughing was kind of gross

I actually feel pretty crummy today - :ill:

(Don't think I'll be posting any videos though!) :no_pig:
