Pretty good flick about the strange life and murder of Hogan's Heroes star, Bob Crane. The murder was technically never solved but there is only one logical person of interest and this movie implicates that person. I remember when the murder happened (1978) and the details that came out about the murder and the life of Bob Crane really seemed bizarre at the time.

Terrific movie about the early days of home video - technical info a-plenty, lots of early equipment on display - a treasure trove for videohead archivists!

I keep forgetting this thread!

Black Panther

Grandma had taken descendants to see it while I was overseas. They loved it. I finally got a chance to see it on a flight. I liked it, but I didn't find it amazing. Worthwhile, short of stunning. Maybe it was the little seatback screen.

Boss Baby

Or is it Baby Boss? Grandma wanted some lighthearted entertainment. It was light, all right. Meh. But she laughed, so it was worthwhile to sit through it with her. There were some good lines, including "Scary Poppins." But overall, meh.

Thor: Ragnarok

Another flight movie. It was much more enjoyable than I'd anticipated, although the Jeff Goldblum sequence, while entertaining, was jarring. But when I got home, I told Grandma she had to see it. We just haven't found it yet at a convenient time.

Wind River

A little indie film and very worthwhile. I've actually been to the Wind River Reservation, and while the movie is a bit overbleak, it's got plenty of soul to it. It's a gripping and often brutal drama, but well done. Think of Tarantino on a half dose of Prozac inspired by Longmire. And it was nice to see Elizabeth Olsen and Jeremy Renner push their acting chops without being superheros.

Well, not a movie but I binged American Horror Story; Freak Show. I saw it when i was first broadcast but wanted to watch again. The acting in this season was stellar. Kathy Bates, Evan Peters and Finn Whitrock were freaking amazing! This and Coven are my favorite seasons. And, hey... BOWIE songs!
I've so far only seen AHS Freak Show and Hotel. Liked them both.

Just watched The Greatest Showman, it wasn't fantastic but I enjoyed it. The entire cast had excellent voices and the songs were fun and catchy, the visuals were nice too and really it's Hugh Jackman, what else do you need? ;;D
Congratulations! You've hit the 100 mark, but I see you still have a couple days before you are here 10 days. Once those days pass, you will be unmoderated. Which means you will see your posts immediately and not have to wait for a moderator to approve them.

Play nice! :encouragement:

Cargo-(Netflix) Martin Freeman as a man with a toddler during a ZA. He's been infected, and he has 48 hours (this zombie scenario is kinder than most--you have a pretty good idea how long it will be before you change) to find some one to care for his daughter before he turns and eats her. Set in a very deserted Australia. I liked it quite a lot. It reminded me a bit of Maggie (not in story details, but in feeling), where the gore and the terror aren't the point as much as how sad and traumatic it is for the people involved.

Is this the one where
he has his kid strapped to his back and he has like some piece of flesh on a fishing pole out in front of him to keep his attention forward and not on the kid?

As mentioned in another thread:

Deadpool 2.

If you liked the first one, 90% chance you'll like this one. Irreverent humor, fourth wall breaches, and in-your-face-industry antics continue. Don't presume you know the good guys and the bad. Don't get too attached to anyone, but neither should you think that "well, that's that" will actually hold.

Ryan Reynolds was great again, particularly when looking at a script. Leslie Uggams was hilarious. Josh Brolin did his now-customary exemplary job (after Men in Black 3, I'm a hopeless fan). T.J. Miller was very enjoyable, but not so much riff-imbued on this one.

Really enjoyed it.
