He just made Sleeping Beauties and now all of a sudden here comes Outsider.

Jeez louise
It's not that surprising when you take into consideration the lag time between when the first draft of a book is finished and the production time on the publisher's part to get it from the manuscript and out to retailers. Since he finished THE OUTSIDER (which was already in production behind the scenes when SLEEPING BEAUTIES came out), Stephen has written another book and a few short stories/novellas, one of which (ELEVATION) will be released in November.

I'll buy Outsider as long as Stephen King doesn't end up like James patterson where Patterson releases a like a crapload of stuff every year like 2-5 Alex cross stuff and then there's those weird fantasy novels for teens
I hear what you're saying but I have never seen King's writing suffer because of his booming productivity. Patterson? I can't say that about him, plus he ghost writes with everybody and their momma's uncle.

SK writes as his muse speaks. Sometime the muse is very talkative, other times at a slower pace, but it is all SK. Can't say that about Patterson!!

yes I know that the Outsider book will be in stores May 22.

Im asking how long it takes for a preorder to be in the mail since I preodered the book last week.
It will depend on the type of shipping you requested. If you picked "same day as published" you should expect it in the mail that day- the 22nd. Same with Prime.

Standard Shipping (business days)- 4-5 days
Two-Day Shipping (business days) within 2
One-Day Shipping (business days) within 1

I have to agree with you. I can't see SK turning into JP. First they are miles apart literary style and then just no. He writes with his sons and that's a different kettle of fish.
