Hey Doc, turns out this thread is the gift that keeps on giving. Here's one that I thought would've been great for Netflix.

King's "Gingerbread Girl" Gets Optioned - Dark Horizons
;-D

This is great, thanks for posting it here. Y'know, this is a story I've read only once and I remember the moment before I began being unenthusiastic about it. I was happily surprised and liked how it runs along (pun intended) at a clip and pulls at the reader's heart. This has that modern Poe spookiness to it, kind of like the Full Dark No Stars collection. It should be one of those stories that easily translates to screen, what do you think?

Agreed Doc. It'll make for a nice low-key thriller.

There was a small storm about Revival a couple of years ago. It initially had Sam Jackson attached for the lead, and then Russell Crowe. All's been quiet on that end for a while though.

Okay, here we go again. And here are my inevitable gripes.

1) Akiva Goldsman is producing. Goldsman, the guy who has the reverse-Midas touch with any genre of film apart from straight-up drama. Red Flag number one, and if you need further proof? Goldsman was the guy who produced the Dark Tower film.

2) Jason Blum is involved, which guarantees that the budget will comprise whatever loose change is in Blum's wallet at the time. No, Firestarter doesn't need a hundred-million dollar budget. But, Blumhouse's idea of "big-budget" is $5 million. Make of that what you will.
