Hmmm, I might have to dvr this. I'm kind of "meh" about tv watching as well. Once I make it to a resting position, I either sleep or read. I do like James Spader - loved Boston Legal.
I keep waiting for Boston Legal to make it to Netflix. I didn't watch it when it was on and have only caught 3 or 4 episodes ever.

I'm 99.9% sure
she's his daughter (though he's already denied it--we know he's a great liar!). He's definitely the 'engine' for this show--the FBI are all dumber than a sack of hammers, and the agent (daughter!)
is pretty lifeless as a character. I like Spader, and most of the 'baddies' are interesting. I especially liked Jennifer Ehle ('Elizabeth Bennett' from the BBC 'Pride and Prejudice') a couple of weeks ago--she's a strong enough actress to be really good acting against Spader. :)

Use spoilers please, I'm only 2 shows in. I figured as much on that idea, though.

It's baaaack! Yay! I missed Red and his snarky self. I still can't figure out if he is lizzies dad or not. He sure acts like it but last season when he told her she could ask him one question and she asked if he was her dad he said no. I don't know if he would lie to her not. The ex-wife plot is going to be interesting. I hope we get to delve a bit more into his background.

I remember really anticipating this because I think James Spader's just about the most underrated actor I've ever seen, but I sadly got really quite bored with it. To its credit, the plots are overblown and ridiculous, but they usually make sense and don't leave a lot of room for plot holes. The character development, however, is appalling if not non-existent. Remember Agent Malik? Was I supposed to care when she got her throat slit by the random baddie of the week? Because I didn't. Maybe if they'd spent more than two seconds on fleshing out her backstory, I might've.

And that's not to mention the actors they've cast. Contrary to popular opinion, I don't actually think Megan Boone is that bad an actor. But it's quite laughable how I'm expected to be unsettled by the character of Tom Keene (or whatever his real name is). I think it's cute how the actual character was meant to be playing a bland, suburban husband type, but when the penny drops and his true identity's revealed...he's still bland and vanilla. The actor they cast is just an intrinsically dull seeming fellow.

I also dislike how they're trying to carve out a long lasting story arc (which grows more and more convoluted by the week, that I imagine it being personified as some Eldritch abomination type monstrosity) while framing it within the tiresome and disjointed feeling procedural format. It just doesn't really work. Despite all that, I'll probably still buy the second season on DVD when it comes out. It's got James Spader, so that's good enough for me.

I'm not loving this seasons Blacklisters, with the exception of a couple. I am liking the Tom arc though and while I haven't seen last nights ep yet it looked like it was going to be good! I keep wondering if Red is her dad but I think they're making it too obvious and want us to think that he is while secretly working up some other devious plot to the contrary.

I'm not that excited about this season either. But trying to hang in there.
