Took a bit of a hiatus from writing but got re-bitten by the bug and wrote and made this monstrosity (of which I am very proud).

Probably don't watch while eating, unless you're some sort of weirdo.

Oh well done... you really grossed me out! I seriously felt queasy, but managed some nervous laughter intermingled with despair for "the young man".
Your technical expertise is growing by the film. Each one is definitely superior to the one before... good job kiddo, I'm impressed.

Now excuse me while I go and yark.

Thanks for the nice words, I'm glad it seems like I'm making progress, I'd hate to just be treading water and not going anywhere.

Yarking is good, a 5 second barfstream is roughly equal to a 5 star review imo :barf:

Have you ever tried to do the dollar-baby program?

This is an abominably late reply, but yes it is something I have thought about doing. Probably about five years ago a mate and I were gonna do Popsy from Nightmares and Dreamscapes. I actually the contract ready and everything but I realised a) I was 14 or something and had no idea what I was doing and b) I had no resources whatsoever, so I canned it. I have given thought to it since, but at the moment I don't have any definite plans to try again.

Welcome back mate!

Do you have any advice on writing/producing screenplays and/or affordable equipment appropriate for a beginner? I appreciate all help in advance, it’s a business I’m very interested in.

For writing screenplays I think the most important thing to do is just write as much as you can, that's really the only thing you can do. It's particularly important if you've never done it before, just to write something and get it finished, even if it isn't great. I know people who have that one great idea that they never finish writing because they procrastinate or get too self-critical. A not-great screenplay is much more useful to you than no screenplay at all. As for equipment, I film with the Panasonic Lumix G7 and its definitely one of the best cameras in that price range. That said, it might be wise to just start filming things with your phone first, to make sure you enjoy filmmaking before sinking 500+ bucks into a camera and lenses. If Steven Soderbergh can make movies with an iPhone, I think it's perfectly fine for beginner filmmakers.

First film of 2019, hopefully many more to come:
Hey kiddo, have just now watched this, fantastic! Yet another clever short by you and the crew. This was thought-provoking and the final scene had me cover my computer screen because, well, I don't like the hurty bits!
Also, apart from him needing to wake up and go through the public humiliation... I'm SO glad he decided not to follow through with the blackmailer's demands!
(I have watched some gross stuff from you boys in the past and thought that might be my very limit! And no, that is NOT a challenge!!! )

Great job kid, pass that on to the others for me too please.

Thanks for the kind words!

It's funny you say that, because my original idea was that he did actually follow through with the blackmailer's demands, only to have the blackmailer then release the racist rant and the blackmail footage, making it doubly bad. As you might assume, some other folks in the production were not exactly keen on the idea of filming even the implication of that particular thing, so it was binned. It turned out to be for the best because once that was canned I started to worry that the film was going to be ineffectual and toothless, which was what gave me the idea for the revised ending and title.

Hello Ben-jamin! I finally got around to watching your latest. I really liked it a lot. It certainly was a lot less bloody than what you posted before but I thought it was a great addition to your films and it has a message, too. Ya done good, kid!!
