I got a notice form UPS that I have a package coming from CD. I haven't got any notice from CD of what it is they are shipping. I have several books on order and I can't figure it out. I can wait until it gets here but I curious NOW! :) Has anyone got a shipping notice in the last couple of days? I think Sleeping Beauties was close in the last update I read. I think Usher's Passing was close to.

Things seem to be loosening up at CD. This will be my third package in a month.
I just received This Dark Chest of Wonders . Got the email on Saturday.

I finished The Long Way Home. I highly recommend it. I dig Chizmar's writing, and I've already preordered his novella, The Girl on The Porch, due out later this year.

Now reading The Hunger. I've been excited to read this one for a while, and so far, so good.
This is a very good book. Have you seen the movie with Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie and Susan Sarandon? It was made back in 1983 but still holds up today. Great flick!

I saw that movie when it first came out - it was quite good at the theatre. It was recently on TV and I recorded it, but ended up deleting it before it was finished (not sure why).

Just got the book Bird Box from the library but haven't started it yet. I hope it's going to be good!

I haven't seen it, but I'm guessing it's a bit different than The Hunger I'm currently reading. This is the one about the Donner Party. It's historical horror, in the same vein as Dan Simmons' The Terror (which I loved).

Yes, the movie that I referred to is based on the book by Whitley Streiber. Not the same as what you are reading.

Went to a book signing and "In conversation with Linwood Barclay and Ian Rankin" at The Poisoned Pen on Thursday. Had not read anything by either author before but knew that Steve and Linwood are friends so on his recommendation that Linwood's books are "a lot of fun", decided to go. I'm reading Ian Rankin's book first, though, for no particular reason. It's titled "In a House of Lies" and is one of his Rebus books but so far isn't an issue that I haven't read any of the earlier ones. The Linwood Barclay book I bought and will probably read next is A Noise Downstairs.

Does anyone have any favorites by either author they'd recommend adding to my TBR list?

Currently reading The Stand but have recently read Elevation, The Craftsman by Sharon Bolton (currently my favourite female author), The Hatching by Ezekiel Boone, The Chalk Man by CJ Tudor (Very Good) and The woman in the window, which I thought was just a modern day take on Rear Window but Definately worth a read.

On my TBR soon list are: The Feed by Nick Clark Windo, The Innocent Wife by Amy Lloyd & Nancy Holder's Dead in the water.

Currently reading The Escape Artist by Brad Meltzer. I've never read any of his books before, but I'm enjoying this one. It's a fun, fast-paced thriller so far.

Not sure what my next read will be. I'll get going on The Talisman soon, though.
