I have read The Outsider and Mr. Mercedes, and I am currently reading Finders Keepers (soon to be followed by End of Watch). I have picked up on something that simply MUST be of some larger significance: the use of the color YELLOW in these books!

In The Outsider, the "yellow bra strap" keeps coming to Ralph Anderson's mind when he recalls the shooting of Terry Maitland on the courthouse steps.
In Mr. Mercedes, the fog lights of the Mercedes were yellow, and he describes the yellow of the Gopher-Go cans as "the very color of insanity."
In Finders Keepers, Morris Bellamy is wearing a yellow balaclava when he is robbing John Rothstein.

The color yellow has surfaced in many other Stephen King works (IT, 1408, and Hearts in Atlantis), and there has to be some bigger connection there...right? Some significance beyond it just being King's hatred of the color yellow?

....welcome!....and this subject was broached on the Board back in 2015, when his personal assistant and our Moderator asked him what his deal was with yellow:
I think because I was terrified by “The Yellow Wallpaper,” the classic horror story by proto-feminist Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Also…I hate yellow.
