I've been taking a Navajo weaving class on Tuesday nights while I'm in AZ. Last night was the last class and I managed to finish my project. I'll be taking it home with me so I can block it (steam it so that I can even out the edges) and decide whether I want to hang it as is or put it in a shadow box frame. It will come back with me the next time I'm here so the shadow box may be the way to go to help keep it protected from dust and moths since it's made with wool yarn. Lots of mistakes but I'm still pleased with it as a first effort. The instruction book has plans for making a loom which I'll do at some point so I can make more.

I had something similar to this way back in the 70's :my_bad:

Actually it was more like this one:

Finally got around to doing the second project in the Craftsy (now called Bluprint) class on fabric painting. I'd posted pictures earlier of the calla lily from that class. This new project is a Southwest theme so will go with me to AZ when I go back in April. I'm not sure if I'm done with it yet but if I do any quilting, it will be light as I want it to look more like a painting than a wall quilt. I got lucky with the fabrics as my local quilt shop has a variety of landscape fabrics. I didn't do anything to the sky and just added a couple lines on the mountains directly under it which I probably could have left off altogether. Next project will be using one of my own photos from a past hike in Sedona. It's easy when you're being told what to do so will see how much success I have on my own.

What a difference between the 1st and 2nd picture - you're pretty good at painting :encouragement:
