I got an e-mail that my signed copy of If She Wakes by Michael Koryta is on the way. That's next as soon as it arrives. I got the signed copy from The Poisoned Pen in Arizona (he did a signing there last week). They probably still have copies you can order if you're interested. Michael Koryta did a signing last weekend in Tampa that I wanted to go to but I had something else going on Saturday and couldn't go.
Think you will enjoy this book. Was another page turner. Enjoy.

I started Florida Roadkill by Tim Dorsey, do1you9love? About 70 pages in, has made me giggle and gasp already. Tons of characters, I thought it was a little disjointed but I am starting to see things pull together. Enjoying it!

Have If She Wakes waiting for me plus Thomas Harris' new one, Cari Mora.

Last week I finished Koryta's Tonight I Say Goodbye.

Yay! I am glad you are liking it. I just got around to reading the one I picked up at the book signing while I was on vacation. I never fail to laugh right out loud at least once per book. Sometimes more! :love_heart:

I am reading a book called the road to Jonestown. It’s actually really good and is forcing me to challenge the way I used to think out the people’s temple, johnestown and Jim Jones. He is one messed up person. His. I’m was just so neglectful. I used to think that he whanted to do something good but I don’t even think it was that at all. He had hours long sermons, like good god.

I'm continuing with the Lonesome Dove quartet and I'm reading some other Larry McMurtry books. I visited a bookstore in the city today and didn't find The Desert Rose (which kingricefan had recommended) but I did see some other novels in the series about Duane Jackson, the protagonist of The Last Picture Show. I also saw a hardcover of Koryta's Those Who Wish Me Dead but they wanted nine bucks for it and I passed on it. Maybe next time they will have a cheap paperback.

There are some really brutal reviews for the new Thomas Harris book Cari Mora. Likely due, in part, to high expectations from those who were Hannibal fans. I've read about the first 30 pages though and it reminds me of a bad Peter Benchley novel.

Oh that is disappointing. I have it waiting for me in my pile.

I glanced through it when it arrived and I was surprised by the huge font. That disappointed me a little, too.

It is brutal. My speculation is that Harris has given up writing but needed the money or maybe someone made him an offer he couldn't refuse to publish something. And this was some type of trunk novel that he wrote years ago but never published (for good reason). There are parts that are so bad that it is almost embarrassing. There are only a couple of instances where there is even a glimmer of the author who wrote Silence of the Lambs. On the upside, BN sold signed copies at retail prices. Something unusual for Harris. I always have my suspicion about mass signed books being autopenned but mine came with a doodle of an owl. So maybe he did actually sign them.

I've read a Book called Career of Evil besides, by Robert Galbraith.
I didn't know, that was JK Rowlings alias

The book was.....much too long
You can skip 20 pages without missing anything
The one with the killer who writes Blue Öyster Cult lyrics near the scene of his crimes? I read the Harry Potter series a long time ago, I remember enjoying them but I dislike JK Rowling attempting to revive the series with stuff like that awful Cursed Child play and the equally bad Fantastic Beast movies, and telling us unnecessary trivial information about her characters on twitter. The series was just fine before she tried to make it politically relevant.
