I love the art of a book so this is a really hard question.

Without a doubt, there was one chilling cover -- the one that pulled me in. And all it took was one drop of color.

Who designed this cover? Who was the artist? This is really frustrating. We talk about covers of Stephen King books, yet we don't mention the artist. And in press releases, it's hard to find the artist mentioned.

Publishers, you need to do better. Give credit where credit is earned. Someone or a group of someone's designed these covers. They pull us in. They intrigue us. And I don't care, but a lot of us DO judge a book by its cover at first. A bad cover doesn't necessarily mean we won't read it, but a beautiful, artistic cover can make me pick up a book faster than anything.

I love that cover as i have seen others post that one as well. When was that cover released?

By the way, i agree with you when you say that the covers do pull us in. As when i am walking around in a book store, i look at the covers and when something looks very intriguing then i pause and come back to the book and read what the book is about. Whereas, many books i will read without great covers but the great covers pull me in to see what the book is about. And a great cover doesn't just have to be about super overload but it can be simple that sends a message like that Salem's Lot cover.

This cover, by Don Maitz looks like this nice, snowy xmas scene, until you let your eyes see.

I really love that cover of the Shining (just as i love the original) but this makes me want to read it during winter time but it looks so nice in the house design but i love the lettering as that lets me know there is something else going on; which inevitably leads to the plot. Great cover

I'm not sure when it was released, but it's breath taking in its simplicity.

I was just being a doofus and having a bit of fun regarding King’s ability to put out novels like they’re coming off an assembly line. I think the publisher’s real art department devoted to King would be much larger. ;):)
opps.

lol yeh probably. I sometimes love the international covers better. my mom and i were going threw my books ans she was like why do you have a foreign copy of this book you cant even read? i was like but mom its an international edition of eyes of the dragon, and she then asked me why i needed it and i said its Stephen king mom and she was like o.k.
