I was going to get this, but the description where I was looking said it was a motivational book and had nothing about scary or horror. I'm not into the motivational kind of book or even a drama. I like horror and thriller. What can I expect from this?
Thanks!
Welcome to the Board!

If you're expecting horror or a thriller, this may not be the book for you. I'd say it's more of a "feel good in a sad way" than "motivational" story, though.

Yeah that's probably not going to be for me. Looking forward to the Doctor Sleep and IT 2 coming out at the movies soon though :) Thanks for answering.

Welcome to the Boards! Elevation is a great book and one of my absolute favorites, but if you're looking for a scary one, you'll be better off with a different title. If you're interested in the novella length, you could try the recent Gwendy's Button Box which King wrote with Richard Chizmar. That one is more thriller-y but still a very quick read.

Not really "a book" as it conforms more to a novella in length. It's not horror, either. I agree with Dana Jean that it's more a slice of life than a novel. If you're into horror, then read something tried and tested such as Carrie. Beware of Gerald's Game, however. It's horror with a touch of kink.
