They’re filled with emotional abuse, passive-aggressive forcible confinement, and entire communities conspiring to sabotage women into accepting less ambitious rolls in life.
I have to agree - but - if you came to my house you would find my rolls exceptionally above average!

DiO'Bolic - just to make it clear - I meant the rolls that I bake, not any other rolls you may have been thinking of

The Primrose Path (1940)

Shall We Dance? (1937)

Professional Sweetheart (1933)

All Ginger Rogers flicks, damn straight. Comedy, drama, dancing, she was a class act, and could do it all—backwards and in high heels.

Huh? Do I ever watch new stuff? Err...well, I’ve got The Walking Dead set to record tonight. The 1936 flick with Boris Karloff, that is. Heh heh. Ever seen it? Seriously, it’s killer. A rare Warner Brothers horror movie from that period, but don’t worry—there’s plenty of gangsters in it.

C’mon, Technicolor is just a fad. Black and white RULES!

Hey, you do you, and I’ll do me...

The Eiger Sanction (1975) **1/2 Directed by Clint Eastwood
Clint directs and stars in this uneven, but modestly diverting thriller based on the novel by Trevanian. Here, he plays a James Bond-esque assassin, embarking on a dangerous mountain climb in an effort to track down the enemy spy who killed a friend. Well-directed, yet can't decide whether it wants to play spy tropes straight or send them up, and like some of Eastwood's other films, the pace may be too leisurely for some. Worth it for the climax, if you stick around that long.

Merrily We Live (1938). Two words: Constance Bennett. A screwy comedy also featuring bubbleheaded Billie Burke (good witch Glenda). A rare novelty for me in that I share a first name with the leading man/male love interest—hearing Connie speak my name (sometimes in that euphoric, breathless tone of hers) makes me feel sorta gooey and hot in my guts.

Yeah, I’m a creepy old geek like that.

I was watching an old movie from the 30s with choreography by Busby Berkley - sometimes I think I was reincarnated or something - would like to travel back in time to see what life was like back then.

I'm a bit like that too neesy, I'm obsessed with radio shows from the 30's, especially the Orson Welles stuff.

I started watching Christmas Vacation for the umpteenth time but decided it was still too early. I mentioned in another thread however that I finally saw Return To Salem's Lot. I'm still deciding if I liked it or not since it was a bit corny but had some interesting things in it. I'm behind on newer films in a big way since I haven't been streaming and just watching whatever is on cable lately. I think I've seen Fight Club 4 times this month but that movie still has a lot of scenes that make a lot of damn sense.

Saw Dr. Sleep which I loved. While a very good adaptation of the book, it was also creepy as hell. Brilliant ending. I know a couple of people that expected a straight up sequel to The Shining and were disappointed. That is how it was marketed, but there is so much more to it than that. My husband never read the book and while he has the benefit of my experience, he loved the atmosphere. I saw Yesterday. It really was just a rom com. Some of the things that were lrft out were just random and that's okay. I think people took it WAY too seriously. Loved the happy ending.
