I loved this book, it was a great read from beginning to end. But I have to admit it didn't go where I thought it was going. That's not a bad thing, in fact more often than not having a book go in a different way is refreshing. But I expected a 'bigger ending' and reveal at the end. I actually thought the kids were going to be breakers for the longest time and while I'm okay that they weren't the man on the phone was a bit of a let down. I imagined h'ed be something more than he was, so that final confrontation at the end was a little disappointing. Thoughts?

I agree that the man was not very menacing when we meet him. One other thing that I did not like was when we found out that
The Institute was a world-wide thing. I thought that took some of the oomph out of the story.

Other than that I very much enjoyed the story. The kids were great and I liked Tim very much too. I wished
Luke had gotten to stay with him.

I just figured he'd be more impressive. The lisp didn't bother me much but I think it might have been better if he hadn't been seen at all.

He did seem rather bland, but that may have been deliberate deception on his part. The villainous figure who impressed me was Stackhouse, and I really hope we will see him (and his lisping boss) again...
