Not sure NL teams really need it in WS. In the last 20 years American League has won 11/National League 9...

Also I love watching Bumgarner hit but he is from my neck of the woods...

Again I am old school like DiO'Bolic pitchers should hit and batters should have to play in the field...

Just less managing in late game situations when it comes to subs...

And if Sox don't find a bullpen they are in for a long year...

Kimbrell anyone???

The bullpen, with the exception of Tyler Thornburg, has actually been pretty good. The starters, on the other hand, have been putrid

The team actually is playing better recently. Still have a big hole to climb out of.

I'm not picking on you swiftdog2.0 and I don't know jack about hockey but...

Apparently there is a team that played tonight where the daytime temps were in mid 80s that is up 3-0 on the Islanders...:)

And Giannis was a handful in that second game. That's going to be a fun series I think. Good luck to your teams.

It’s OK, I’m a tough dog.

Hurricanes are a good team. I’ll root for any team playing against NY just on general principles!

Now, it's time for Red Sox fans to panic. Bullpen with no closer has been awful. 11 games behind the Yankees, who I hate to say, look like they are going to roll over everyone this year. Those two games in London were an embarrassment. The scuttlebutt now is that they will make Evaoldi the closer when he comes off the IR. That's a desperation move.

Press in the event it's July and you're behind 11 games...

The bullpen woes have been apparent for the last few weeks. It was inevitable based on how poorly prepared the starters were to begin the season. The bullpen was overworked during the adjustment period and are now burned out and can't be trusted with a lead. I think the bullpen has something like 16 blown saves and 8 where the Sox were leading after 7 innings. If those games were wins, we'd be right behind the Yankees. Frustrating. I'm OK with not going back to back on tiles but don't jerk the fanbase around with "we don't need an established closer BS". Everyone knows closer by committee does not work. Sox found that out first-hand in 2003. Unfortunately, bad bullpens are a Dave Dombrowski specialty.

The Nats have a shot with that staff of starters. Love to watch Scherzer pitch.

Pedro is having too much fun on TV but he’d make a damn good coach. I hate the Astros almost as much as the Yanks...almost.

Nats have a shot. Astros are damn good, though. The Red Sox were lucky to get past them last year in the ALCS. I don't much like the Astros either. Especially Bregman and Osuna. But I dislike the Yankees even more.

Also, it's ten years and counting since the last Yankees WS appearance. That makes me smile :)

You'd think they would invest in some top tier starting pitching to go along with that light's out bullpen of theirs. Instead the seem to prefer paying Jacoby Ellsbury and Giancarlo Stanton to sit on the bench.

Pete Rose gets a lifetime ban for gambling which may or may not have involved several games he played in, and these jokers get a one-year suspension for actual cheating?

And a $5 million fine? How many tens of millions more were the Astro’s players paid because they ‘won’ versus what the Dodgers players got? Astros owner should have been forced to cough up that difference in money and give it to the Dodgers players or forefit the World Series win.

If it's true that Alex Cora was the "mastermind" behind the schemes, and he carried them with him to the Red Sox, he will get the harshest punishment. Rightly so. The Red Sox should just fire him now and start looking for his replacement.
