Should have started a new thread a while back but wasn't paying attention to the post count in the old one.

If the forecasters are right, will be seeing the first triple digit temperatures this week in the Phoenix area. Might be taking my lunch hour a lot earlier so I can get in my daily walk. Even a dry heat gets hot past a certain point. :)

Let me repost what I posted in one of my Facebook groups.

It's going to be in the 60s today! Yay! Job canceled. Boo. But I can get yardwork done in my shorts! Yay!
Except... I tried on my shorts. Turns out they come in four sizes.
  1. Good thing we got elastic in this waistband, fatass.
  2. You can make it fit, but that button is in peril, as is anyone in the line of fire when, not if, it gives way.
  3. You can button it, but don't even pretend you can wear it.
  4. No f****** way.
The responsible thing would be to eat and drink less and work out more.

The irresponsible thing would be to order larger shorts.

Sometimes adulthood sucks.

As a current sufferer of the Pandemic Eating Disorder, this truly cracked me up!

My SO just texted me that he woke up to a thin blanket of snow, 35F only going to a high of 39F. I do NOT want to go home to that so sure do hope things improve before May 7th or I'll be wishing for another extension of my flight schedule.
Not looking promising....

My weather has been gorgeous. Not quite safe to plant my crops yet, but they go on field trips out into the sun and then back inside at night. My yard is looking fantastic!

I got a yard company to come in Monday to weed and feed and I'm already seeing good results from that. It's amazing what their toxic chemicals can do for a yard... and my third arm.

Yeah, I've already checked the 10 day forecast but thank you for checking as well. :) At least it's going up into 50s but hoping that extra week beyond will see more improvement. It must be getting bad for morale, though, as he said he's sick of it and would welcome the 101F that I'll be getting. He usually hates the hot weather and anything over 75 is too hot for him so that was an eyebrow raiser for me.

Stay there....the weather here sucks!!!
I'm at the mercy of American Airlines at the moment. They've extended my return date once already so maybe I'll luck out as far as getting home when weather is better. Fingers crossed. I'd already told my SO (in December) that if I came back at the beginning of May and it was as crappy weather as we'd had in 2019 when I got back that I'd be staying until June in 2021. I may be a year early on that promise. :)

24 this morning with snow squalls, Ms.Mod. Snow yesterday afternoon and last Friday/Saturday had about 3-4inches. I know it’s not a lot but kinda depressing when all’s you can do is be out in the yard. Heard a knocking on the door this morning....was a Robin looking to come in and warm up...
LOL (re the robin) You'd have to be hiding the razor blades from me. Doesn't that seem to be the way, though, when we have those mild January and February months that it makes up for it in March and April? Just do the cold and snow when you're supposed to dammit! So depressing even under the best of circumstances when it drags on and you're ready to be outside enjoying warmer weather and sunshine.

This is exactly right. Seems to be a pattern evolving over the last few years doesn’t it? If it snows on Mother’s Day again this year there will be new house listed for sale the next day.
