No, but now, I'm gonna have to go to that one, too. :biggrin2:
The castle I'm talking about is in Blowing Rock.
The Castle Hotel
205 Sampson Rd
Boone, NC 28607

It was torn down years ago and all that remains are a few overgrown parking lots.

I know that place well......That's the road my uncle Skip lives on.
Before it was The Castle Hotel, it was the Aho Motel. Beautiful stone building sitting at the top of the hill.
A developer bought the property, tore down all the buildings, then went bankrupt.
When I was a kid, I wanted to live in the Aho Motel.
This isn't the castle I'm looking for. The one I'm after was moved here stone by stone from Scotland.

Was it Brains that told you about this elusive castle from Scotland? :)

Oh Lord, no! You can't trust anything Brains says!!
I read an article about it in our newspaper when I was around 12. The owner wouldn't let them use his full name or his address.
......probably because he knew people like me would go looking for it. There were two photos of the outside printed with the article. As far as I know,
his heirs still live there during the summer season.

That place looks familiar, too. Can't put my finger on it at the moment. I want to say it's on Green Mountain Road...... I'll drive by there this weekend and see if I'm right.
Well if you can't find it and have an extra $3 million sitting around... this one is available for you near where you live. :)

Meet Marsha. I rescued her from the woods behind my house. She's a bit dirty because we got caught in the rain before I finished planting.
The clay pot is a temporary home. Her permanent place will be in a stump beside the driveway, where she will have room to grow.

Look how pretty she is. :) Hope she does well although violets are pretty hardy so shouldn't be a problem. They can get invasive so might stray away from that stump.

I've been told that plants tend to do better when they're stolen. :biggrin2:
I love wild violets, so it's okay if they stray some the edge of the driveway could use some cheering up, and my lawn guys will keep them trimmed short if they get too crazy.

They've pretty much taken over in the lawn (using that term loosely as it's more weeds than grass but we've never actually seeded it) in the back yard. We have both the purple and white varieties.
