I'm really enjoying it. I'm liking the title story more than I thought I would, it's making me want to read the Hodges books I missed (Finder's Keepers, End of Watch). The Life of Chuck started well, ended well, but kind of sagged in the middle. One more tale to go.

I think something fishy is up. The release date was scheduled in May, then moved to April, then to an even earlier date in April. I pre-ordered the dang thing from Amazon and now have received a message that the delivery date will be close to the original May date. Were they just trying to get my money a couple weeks early? :(

Think it has more to do with Amazon's system of prioritizing items they're shipping these days. Apparently books aren't considered a necessity so get shipped when they get to it.

Many are having an issue with Amazon delivery. Did you pre order via "prime"? From discussion with others, am seeing any who ordered via prime have had delayed notices. Also some Wal Marts said not available for a least another week.

Yes, it was through Prime. You'd think Amazon would give priority to Prime customers as they pay an extra fee for that service.

I don't know. I went to order it on Amazon the other day, and they didn't have it. But the local Walmart did. So there might be something going on with Amazon's stock of it?

I've finished the first story and am on the second. So far, so good. Feels like vintage King. I confess I kind of stopped reading him in the early 2000's, because a lot of what I was reading wasn't holding my interest. The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon, From a Buick 8, a few others. Just weren't doing it. But then I picked up 11/22/63 and Duma Key and really loved them. So I've not read The Outsiders or Mr. Mercedes yet, but plan to.

He's been on kind of a spree since Mr. Mercedes of writing a series that features the same characters. If you like If It Bleeds, check out The Outsider and Mr. Mercedes, they are interconnected. The Institute was also really good, unrelated to those books though.
