Heads up. Valve's game engine SOURCE, which was used to program many of their most popular games and others (Team Fortress 2, Half Life 2, Portal, CS:GO, etc.) was hijacked and is now potentially in the control of nefarious forces. DO NOT PLAY ANY SOURCE ENGINE GAMES, PARTICULARLY ONLINE ONES, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE IS GIVEN. Playing them could potentially give you serious malware, so I would temporarily uninstall any source engine games until this is fixed. Looks like a fired Valve employee decided to extract his revenge by selling the sensitive information to nefarious sources (So I've heard).

This thread is pretty tight knit in terms of discussions, but just in case.

Remaking album covers to the best of my ability in Animal Crossing is coming along nicely

From the left to the bottom right

Tonton Macoute- Tonton Macoute (some obscure early 70s band that released one album before their record label went bankrupt)
Fire of Unknown Origin- Blue Öyster Cult
Countdown to Ecstasy- Steely Dan
The Wall-Pink Floyd (real subtle, I know)
White Album (Self Titled)- The Beatles
Blues for Allah- Grateful Dead
Secret Treaties- Blue Öyster Cult
Guacho- Steely Dan
Dark Side of the Moon- Pink Floyd
Abbey Road- The Beatles

Alien Isolation was on sale this weekend, it wasn't a game I was particularly interested in, but it went down from $40 to $2 for just one weekend, and I couldn't pass that up. The game takes place between Alien and Aliens I think, where Ripely is still in the escape pod from the end of the first one and you play as her daughter investigating the big commercial ship the transmission she sent out went to, only to find the occupants have delved into total chaos as something lurks in the shadows picking them off one by one (Gee, I wonder what that could be?). For a game called Alien: Isolation, there sure are a lot of other people on board, although they've all split into factions and are killing each other over resources. I've played for 3 hours and you only see the Xenomorph once, and even then barely. I cannot, for the life of me, get past this one section where you have to sneak from point A to point B to retrieve an item whilst a faction of 6 people, all with guns, are looking for you.

I do like that because you play as a different character so recently after the first film ends, you and all the other people on board have absolutely no idea what this thing is, seeing how you're probably the second people to ever see a Xenomorph after the Nostromo crew in Alien. I think it's a creative way to set up the plot

I started playing GTA 5 this week, because some friends wanted to do multi-player. Just kind of mindless mayhem, not my normal game but good for a change. Just finished Final Fantasy VII Remake last week and it was wonderful.

Alien Isolation is great, but it certainly made me very anxious and stressed. I had to stop playing at one point.

Never played too much Survival Horror games no matter how much I'd like to. I've always wanted to play the first 4 Silent Hill games but I can't figure out how to get a PS1 emulator to work. Or rather, where to find ROMs without getting viruses.

I'm on the part where you have to retrieve the medicine from the medical bay whilst the Xenomorph is wandering around. It's been awhile sense I've felt so tense playing a video game lol.

God I had gotten so far after multiple failed attempts, only to be hiding in a locker when Mr Alien began to sniff around the room it was in, I was making sure to crouch as far back as I could when he turns his head towards the viewing vents and I'm suddenly prompted with "Hold cntrl or RMB to hold you breath" and I didn't even finish reading what it had said when a split second later he rips the door off its hinges to take a big bite out of me. The game doesn't even let you make a b line to the rooms farther down the medical wing even when you already remember the password and locations of items at this part, I guess it only makes sense that Ripley will have to relearn everything after trying again, but gee, makes the fetch quest around in an area with a giant carnivorous alien that can hear and smell a pen drop from a mile away wandering aimlessly through the halls, way more annoying. Doesn't help when opening and closing lockers Ripley does it at the speed of light, making sure to create as much sound as she can.

Maybe he just wants to introduce me to his little second mouth buddy

I really do enjoy how Isolation actually went the serious survival horror route of the first film rather than one of those shooter cabinets made out of. whatever Hollywood blockbuster is making money you still see at movie theater arcades or restaurants that never got rid of them, or go Aliens and make it a shooter game. Three cheers for being a game made of a classic movie franchise and not suck, better yet when the game feels like an expanded version of the situation in the original movie. The atmosphere is slow and suspenseful, lots of dark areas, items are scarce, so use your bullets and batteries wisely. Not to mention that the AI and Behavior for the titular Alien is really good, making him intelligent enough to be a real threat. There's also piles of strategical thinking and using what you have, when it comes to being able to access ways to change what the flow of electricity is going to in the area. Hiding in lockers. Utilizing tools. Above all, being sneaky when there's an enemy (or alien) nearby. That level of strategy and puzzle solving makes it very unique.

I do love how the start of the medical bay mission the xenomorph announces his presence by slowly jumping down from the vent and is enveloped in fog like it's the dramatic intro to an 80s concert

Only took me 2,000 times to realize hiding in lockers every 2 seconds was getting me nowhere. The mission after it has been my favorite mission so far. I love the callback to the original movie when you can see the drool falling out of the vents when the alien is above you.

the first 4 Silent Hill games but I can't figure out how to get a PS1 emulator to work
Oh, I love SH series, they are just the best! But the emulators are awful, I tried it with SH1, but it did not work properly. Now my husband has purchased the PS1, he collects these devices (we now have PS1, PS3, Vita, Sega and something else, I don't even remember all of them, he has adream of collecting all the good stuff). But we don't have any games of Silent Hill yet, I hope we buy the first game and I will finally play it.

Now we only play once a week, the last game we played with my husband was Streets of Rage 2. We just love computer games, only now we do not have time to play :D

I have avoided spoilers about The Last of Us 2 so far so if you post some here, please use the spoiler tag. :)

I have not gamed in months. I got the Uncharted 1, 2 and 3 games a few weeks ago, while they were free. Have played them all but wanted them for the PS4, I have them for the 3.

Want to get back into Fallout 76 again too, now that NPCs have been added.
