I hope I haven't offended anyone with my comments about the changes in the movies.

Not in the slightest! Differences of opinion are what make discussion about film, books, ect . . . fun!
You are definitely right about the process of adaptation; book to film is a genre in and of itself. From my personal point of view, I just didn't think the film met my expectations for a good adaptation. Although, I will say the film was beautifully shot, and the cast was excellent!

I was extremely impressed with IT Chapters 1 and 2. The casting was fabulous, the dialogue was filthy and just perfect and I loved Pennywise.2. Sure I missed Tim's smart-ass quips and raised eyebrows, but Bill Skarsgard did a sweet job. I liked his choppers, too! Again, it was a treat to see Mr. King as Secondhand Rose's proprietor. Ritchie's coming out actually made sense to me, so kudos to that twist of events.

Thanks, I've had some bad experiences on boards where different opinions weren't welcome.

I agree that Chapter Two had more flaws with it's adaption. I agree that the casting was excellent, and there was great production values with the movie. My biggest problem with the movie is Georgie should have been more of a theme than he was. I never expected him to have a major role in the movie, but he should have brought up earlier than after an hour. Georgie was Bill's main motivation for going after IT in the book and mini-series. Yes in Chapter One Bill didn't acknowledge that Georgie was dead till the end. But he still should have said something about avenging the murder of his little brother. He showed more emotion for a kid who's only connections were:

1. See him at the Jade of the Orient.
2. Just happening to live at Bill's old house.

I also didn't like how they changed to Bill "faking" being sick. That to me really came out of nowhere.

my friend who came with me to see it loved kings cameo she found it so funny. And she is not a king fan. I could tell people in the audience did not get who he was. But it was funny, I found a good portion of humour in the movie as well

I wonder if they will announce the supercut at some point. I'm curious if they will have part one then go to part two. Or if they will mix it like the book.
