I recently found a 1950s published copy of Men, Martians and Machines by Eric Frank Russell still in decent condition of probably kept on a tight bookshelf for years.
also just because I recently was talking about the movie I spotted a double book hardback of Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs

Havent yet got around to reading these as I like to have a surplus of TBR due to having no access to a bookshop. I tend to go in a frenzy when I do get to a bookshop. lol

Bought 13 books for 6 us dollars. Some crime novels, two by jonathan kellerman. One history over Cairo from ancient times up til today, Some were just a shot in the dark but when they are as cheap who cares. At least some will be good enough to read in these times.

Also went to the library and carried home 8 books. Due to corona you can now lend the books for three months, not three weeks, The return date is 22 june. Thought it would be wise to stack up with books in these times. That is, for me at least, one of those necessary items i cant to without. (and if they are really bad i can always use the pages as toiletpaper, right?)

I managed to do an update in my Jules Verne collection. I only had The Mysterious Island and A Trip around the world Under the Sea in shortened editions, two real classics, but now have the unabridged translation from french (unfortunately my french is very bad so cant read him in original language).
I also found The Sphere by Crichton. Sounded promising. Any good?

....anything by Crichton is usually worth a read, and that one was also turned into a film.....

The book is worth a read but the movie was just okay. Even with the star power in it it still wasn't as good as it could have been.

I have been loading up on the original Will & Grace dvd sets. I have found a couple at Goodwill that were in mint condition and the rest I have been getting from thriftbooks.com (yes, they sell dvd's and blurays also!). Also, this past weekend I was thrift store shopping and found Prince: Inside The Music And The Masks by Ronin Ro and an autographed copy of The Secrets Of My Life by Caitlyn Jenner.

Which Will & Grace seasons do you still need?

Well a bit 11th hour, but in the moving of my wife's granny from Oklahoma, my wife found a near mint first edition hardback of The Shining. No page yellowing, no spine creases, and one small tear on the back of the dust jacket. I was flabbergasted when she pulled it from the shelf. I don't think it was ever read. Just put on a shelf and left there for 40+ years. What a score. Now if I could catch SK at the Wal Mart or something...
