I was really liking Haven (based on the Colorado Kid). Watched several seasons until it had that "jumped the shark" feel creep in on me. It's one I could go back and try from the beginning in a couple years though.

I liked the first few seasons of Haven as well! Then it went into left field. For me..it started when the plots started to focus on the relationship between Audrey, Nathan and Duke. Then I started to realized that they really had no ending for this show...kind of like Lost and I cut my losses and stopped watching.

Side Rant: Lost is a touchy subject for me...LOL. I was literally mad, when I finished watching the last episode. All this time and energy invested in a show and that is how it ended! I won't say how it ended as some might not have seen the show, bu"t a warning.....it is disappointing as F***

Forgot to put in a note regarding Gerald's Game.....uhhhhhhhh...What to say. I can't say I'm excited about this! There are so many better novels/short stories that King has written that I think would translate better into a movie and/or series.

I would love to see a movie based on the In the Eyes of the Dragon, The Man in Black, Cain Rose Up or Revival.

Yes...we should! I have a pretty laid back personality, but I actually joined a Lost message board just to express my disappointment! LMAO ;-D
I can appreciate that. That's pretty much how I joined SKMB - after finishing the Dark Tower series. I needed to process.
LOST just lost it... I mean I was glad the people I had bonded with in the story got to be so happy in the end. That part was satisfying even if they did all the Dharma storylines injustice and made the series completely un-rewatchable. They had so much to work with and they really dropped the ball, even though as I said they did at least make me feel good about what ultimately happened to everyone.

I can rewatch X-files over and over, even after the writers gave us that pretty much final ending on the highway. LOST I doubt I can ever watch again. Sad!!

p.s. I guess I should add I DO plan to completely re-read Dark Tower someday.

I know exactly where that is ... my mom has a house on Mobile Bay and I've walked past that spot so many times .....

Which LOST board? The Fuselage is pretty much dead these days, sad to say ... unless you mean a page on Facebook?

I love that this is being filmed in my neck of the woods. :)

Don't know why I thought you lived somewhere else... way down here, eh?

Gerald's Game is very much love or hate. I've seen people put it both in 'Best of' and 'Worst of King' lists. It's always been one of my very favourites. I think mainly because it's so minimalistic and it doesn't have a long build up - it starts right away from the get go - she's chained to the bed and you wonder where it will and can go from there.
It also feels a bit different from a lot of his other stuff - which is probably why some don't like it. It's mostly like Misery, I suppose, but even there there are more (mainly two) characters. What makes it quite unique is that it's mainly one person in a room for a whole book.

It should be interesting to see how they handle the scene in the bedroom with the husband and the childhood trauma situation. I really like Carla Gugino!

Yes, Jessie's childhood memories are some of my favorite parts (particularly the struggles with her mother) & are integral to the story so I hope they don't gloss over or skip them. I don't see how they could since it's kind of the reason for her panic... Hope none of that is spoiler material for folks not familiar with the story...

Mr King has seen the initial cut of the film. Here is is comment, taken from his Facebook page:

"Saw a rough cut of Mike Flanagan's GERALD'S GAME yesterday. Horrifying, hypnotic, terrific. It's gonna freak you out."

We just cancelled our Netflix subscription. Why does everything have to go to "pay TV" services? Hopefully it'll pop up on DVD soon. Netflix and Hulu are a waste of time and money.

I have to disagree. I think more original movies are done for streaming because producers realize that cable/dish is going the way of the landline phone.

People are tired of paying exorbitant fees for hundreds of channels, when most watch only a small fraction of available channels.

Show creators are going where the money is.
